This week I have been ordering a bunch of KINKS albums that my itunes account was missing. I noticed that each album cover seems to feature Ray Davies. Clearly Ray was the inspiration and most important KINK - but one can see that he might have thought that the KINKS were HIS BACKUP BAND - just based on the fact that for very few albums are any bandmates seen on album covers.
