Yeah bassplayer these are indeed exciting times, and expensive times... I live in London, England and am very fortunate to have a load of great acts coming to town this summer. I am 27 and have a wide taste that includes a lot of the 90's acts as well as the 'vintage' stuff. I just saw cream on thursday (amazing) and over the next 2 months i have oasis at the astoria, u2, coldpl

Just wondering if anyone here will be going to the press conference in NYC on tuesday. Or at least taking a trip to New York to try and catch some of whats going on. Question to bv: How do people get into the press conference, i mean i'm not expecting you to tell everyone on the site (!!) but i presume you will be there, so how does one get 'invited' or admitted. I live in Lo

Hey people, I was just wandering, is it worth spending the $100 and getting the 'platinum' membership to rs.com?? Would it be a good idea to do it at all, and if so then should we join up before the first set of tickets go on sale for the new tour to ensure we have presale access to tickets, in the same ways as U2 and McCartney did it?? On the licks tour i managed to get astoria t

Yeah i was lucky enough to get tickets, I just saw them last night (thursday). It was amazing, really good musicianship from all three of them. Ginger did his 'toad' drum solo near the end, amazing for a 65 year old with arthritis, jack bruce played and sang amazingly well and clapton was great, some inspired solos, a far cry from the bland autopilot stuff he has a tendancy to churn

Howabout a space shuttle, hold the press conference in outerspace, with them in space suits. At least that would give ronnie an excuse why he cant play his @#$%& guitar properly... Just kidding, he's alright! Or a giant hovercraft, they could be launched from a cruise ship about 20 miles out at sea (being filmed live of course), and then literally hovercruise up the hudson river and land

It would be cool for this show to go ahead. I think maybe this time the stones want to play some different/interesting venues, new markets etc. We know that they need to get enthusiastic and they need a reason to tour. Obviously they have the new album, but they also need a new angle maybe, for example, the press asking why are you touring again, the usual bullshit questions from unimaginitive re

There is a great coverband in London called "The Rollin' Stoned". They are really cool, have an elaborate stage set with loads of rugs, throws, incense and other stones stuff in a nod to the REAL band. Great sound and the setlists are always interesting. They play at the 'Halfmoon' in Putney, London (a legendary small venue in SW London, hosted the stones get together in

Ablett, haha LOL, zimmer frames!! Seriously though, what could they do this time that would be different? If they announced the tour in London they could use a routemaster open top double decker red bus and cruise through the west end with a big convoy of police, and then arrive in trafalgar square and have a big stage and announce the tour their, followed by a 5 song set.?? However as

Hey people, Well, with all this talk of the tour, I'm thinking about setting out to boston or wherever to catch the opening night. It's something that sounds appealing, but I was just wandering, in your experience (those of you that have seen opening shows and shows further into the tour) how is the 1st night of a stones tour? I can imagine the excitement and anticipation of the

I used to think this album was crap but it has really grown on me recently, after I was trying to find a good stones song to dance to to convince my friends they rock in all aspects of music!! I was having a party once and after a few drinks I really wanted to hear somesome stones, but didnt want to interupt the dancey sort of groove. So on goes Dance Pt. 1 and EVERYONE got up and danced, i mean

Hey guys, I just recently got hold of a 'soundboard' boot from this 2002 show, I got it from ebay. No one had bid for it and I put in a maximum bid of £5 or something to see what would happen (it was my first time using ebay) and as nobody bid, it sold to me for 1p !! Plus postage, so £2.01 !! Does anyone have this? My copy has a colour front cover with a pic from the 2002 press c

I think HTW would work in arenas if it was played at the original tempo, or sympathy in the large stadiums with crazy lights, video effects, the usual african drumming intro with loadsa smoke etc and then the sound transforms into the sympathy percussion intro ?? Hmmm i'm getting excited already..!!

Wow this is incerible. An entire thread (so far) with no macca bashing! Are they asleep, in a different timezone..???!!! I am a HUGE fan of both the Stones and McCartney, and I don't mind admitting it. They are my two favourite acts. One thing I would like to say (at the risk of a lot of abuse) is that recently since Maccas latest re-birth at the start of the 2002 US tour he seems to real

Yeah I was really lucky and managed to get tickets 11 rows from the stage! Holy shit! I agree crawdaddy, Clapton on his own doesn't really interest me anymore, his recent music is too bland and not what im into at all, but cream is another matter. I really hope he gets some inspiration and finds that bluesman within him again. I hope he'll dig out some of his old gibson bluesy guitars,
