cirrhosis' theories, girls in bars and beers aside, I agree with you, Leonard. The crunch is gone. It's a pity. Guitars sound pretty tame by now. Seems to me that the more backing musicians they added, the more the crunch suffered. After all, the Stones used to be a guitar band...

Well, according to cirrhosis' "theory of everything" the crunch is still there. And if you can't hear it, it tells a lot about yourself and your concept of crunching. And your unhappy state of mind, of course. You see, cirrhosis' theory of everything explains everything. In fact, the crunch in the Stones guitar sound is still there. If I understand cirrhosis right, you ju

nice fake, but the vocals reveal it's not the Stones. And I doubt the Stones would borrow from themselves (Can't You Hear Me Knocking, Slave) so obvious and shamelessly.

Mathijs, let's face it: The current Stones are a band well behind their expiry date. Looking back, their last truly great record as a creative band was Some Girls. This Some Girls-era was their last truly creative era. That said, Tattoo You was a @#$%& great record, but in fact it was a true "Rarities" album as it made extensive use of outtakes and leftovers from 1972 onwards. B

And Jagger simply does not want to go back to old unfinished tapes, listen to hundreds of hours of unfinished material to find a couple of gems that are well worth of further work to release them. I remember Ronnie mentioning that it is easier to write and record new songs, instead of going back to old tapes from sessions decades ago and try to finish them.

It's a bootleg which uses the Rolling Stones Records label. A fake, so to speak. Brutal, but he nailed it. "Undoubtedly, the Stones have earned their place in history and recorded a lot of great music. But that should not exempt them from critical scrutiny" - written in the book of all those still-enthusiastic followers who take criticism as an offense, and not this uncreative and badly overprized spectacle (tickets, merchandising) the Stones perform this tou

Apart from Sing This All Togther (See What Happens)... no, honestly, I have several (in fact: many - that's why they are my favourite band) fav all time rs songs, but if I have to choose just one for eternity, it is most probably Jumping Jack Flash - the original single.
