LQ- No ticket drop, esp. for a Friday show.A couple who arrived at 7:40 last night said there were no seats then and, you're right, the Legends crew are pretty snippy about holding seats. It's a good policy, but it makes for a long visit if you want a seat.

Went to the show last night. Killer! Larry McCray opened and was great. Buddy came on around 10:30 and burned through a ninety minute set with a mix of old and new, including teases of songs from his forthcoming cd. When he was finished, he took a detour to wake up a drunk at the bar ("Hey man, you don't sleep at my bar!") before signing autographs for fans. Sold out as usual. When

Does the Bank Atlantic Center still charge people $5 to walk on their grounds in an effort to dissuade people from using the free parking at the mall across the road? When we saw the Stones there several years ago, the mall lot was easy in/easy out and free (the mall didn't care, most parkers checked out the mall before or after shows anyway) and the sleaze at the stadium had decided to lev

We've caught one show during each stand for bout ten years. It's always a great show and Legends treats its customers well. Buddy always sticks around afterwards to sign memorabilia and talk with fans. One year, a drunk gal who had been asked to leave the club stumbled up to Buddy as he was getting into his SUV and slurred, "Buddy, I gotta tellya sumthin"" Buddy recogniz

I was on the field as well, but we moved to the seats behind home plate. Still in the area, but a bit west (Madison).

My first Stones show. I think I still have my copy of The Bugle around here. Milwaukee cops really wanted to bust people and nailed their share, including one bust that even brought Mick to the edge of the stage to complain. Note the references to how old and seasoned the boys were back in '75. Later that same summer, Pink Floyd played the same venue and ruined the field for that year'

The cd versionis great. It's gritty and very much in the spirit of the song. We know she is a fan and she does right by the song.

The only good memory I have of the beasts concerns a Stones 8track. A friend had Hot Rocks but had to splice the tape after his player chomped on it. The result was a great jump from YCAGWYW to Brown Sugar.Other than that, nasty beasts from a different time.

Caught Jim with his boys in Memphis a month ago. I talked two of my colleagues into seeing him and they were blown away (Amy LaVere played before him and was also impressive). He and his boys obviously enjoy playing together.

Can we start now? An experimental brew based on an old Chinese recipe that tastes like a tripel from Dogfish. On Amateur Night er, NYE, it'll be a mix of Irish whiskey, Wisconsin craft beer and a taste of cheap champagne.

RA played in Madison and was a joke, drunk and whiny. Saw him open for The Stones in Chi. later and was, again, unimpressed. Seems like he tries to rock like The Stones but comes off sounding like Elton John (and we know what Keef had to say about EJ).

1981 2nd show of the Chicago stand. My sister had missed '75 in Milw. after a car accident left her paralyzed a month before the show. In '78 she was in Chi. but at the Rehabilitation Institute and wasn't able to go, again. When I said we should try for scalper tix, she was game, but my wife passed. We drove to Rosemont and wheeled around for about an hour. No luck, too expensiv

There is also a great cover of this by Alejandro Escovedo and Jon Langford. I believe it pops up on one of the Bloodshot Records compilations.

Lemme see, temp difference between the last two Chi. Soldier Field shows was 50 degrees. Both shows were great with energetic setlists. Guess what, maybe shows will go a bit smaller in the future. End? Talk to Buddy, BB, and any other blues player that The Stones and their fans enjoy. What else can they do, this is their raison d'etre after all.

Not a great idea. Many people have set up schedules around this show and to change venues at this point would cause some serious repercussions. Besides, when did the weathergoons become all-knowing?

Giles believes he's witty. Well, he is half right on that score. This type of sorry whining has dogged the boys since their inception. Methinks Mr. Coren sounds a tad envious.

John and his band have always been a treat, but I know some folks get wound up with him for a number of reasons, but deserved and undeserved. One of the best outdoor performers and his "whenever" shows were on fire. He also has the RS disease of playing the favorites live and not working his interesting catalogue. He has anged better than some of his contemporaries, especially Petty, an
