Very good post chrisking.I am 44 and I will never ever forget the first time in my life I have listened to a Stones song .It was HTW back in 1969.It's really changed my life. I've bought ABB on the very first day of its release in France and since then I don't think I have listened to another CD.Driving too fast is blasting every morning in my car when I send my kid ( poor boy he

I like T&A .To me the Winos version is superior to the Stones ,it's rougher ,more punkish . Would like also 'Can't be seen ' to reappear in the set list but I know it was not rehearsed .Sad,sad, sad!

To me SSMC (don't misunderstand me I like the song) is not very well built . On the fisrt verse Jagger sings it like a rap song and it sounds very good( not crazy about rap but when it's a good one I appreciate it) but then he goes into 'she saw me coming 'all the way till the end.I would have turned two or three verses into rap and then it would have made a very good song to

I think I would love very much to have Ronnie as a friend.I give him also a lot of credit for what's done to the Stones when Jagger and Richards were at odds. On the pure musical point of view I have always believed that the choice made in 1975 by the Glimmer Twins was a bad choice. To me the Stones music doesn't require an outstanding lead guitar player.I enjoy very much the MT era a

I have about 250 boots ( live + studio outtakes).I collect mostly live albums from the period 1964-1990 ( same goes for my videos/DVD collection). From 1990 onwards I 've becomed much more demanding .The way they play and the sound are very much identical from one tour to another so I tend to collect only soundboard boots featuring new songs or old songs rarely played.

It's a very small village (1500 inhabitants) located in the Loire Valley(France). This not very far away from Tours. This is a very nice area because most of the French Renaissance Castles(Chenonceaux ,Amboise,Cheverny ...) are in the vincinity. Mick is well known amongst the population and you can well meet him shopping at the supermarket. His house (castle) is located outside Pocé sur Ciss

Tune up your guitar and try to catch the chords while listening to the songs. The Stones aren't using many chords per song and it is quite easy to find them. Just have to determine whether it's open or standard tuning. I don't think that Keith and Ron are using much open tuning on ABB ,perhaps on BOMH.

Don't agree with you Elmo .Politics are left to citizens who elect politicians. Jagger is a UK citizen and therefore entitled to have opinions and to share them with other people/

Steven Nobody is waiting for Mick Jagger to tell us what to think. This thread is just about why Jagger is so direct( poltically) in this album whereas his writing was more subtle in the past. In that matter your post is rather irrelevant. We don't want to start another discussion on american politics .Pretty boring in my opinion.

Lyon (France) june 1982.G Geils band and George Thorogood opened for the Stones .A very very hot evening and an energetic performance even if I was not too crazy about the settlist for the 81/82 tour.

Well Jagger has proved over the past decades that he's able to write very subtle lyrics. If he 's used very direct(simple) words in Sweet neo con it's on purpose.I think his anger is genuine, comes from the guts. The raw lyrics in SNC it's like a punch in the face. Quite agree with you Rank,ABB is anchored in the present and it makes this album much more relevant.

Fully agree .Till 1989/90 I could date all the versions .Since then I find it almost impossible.
