I went to last nights show (Monday). I thought it was pretty good. I could have done with more Jimmy Vaughn and less Gary Clark. I thought Jimmy's set with the horns was just groovin'. Never been that impressed with Clark. I thought EC put on a pretty good show. Highlights for me were Sheriff and Before You Accuse Me. Sheriff was hot but then the acoustic set started and for me

I mean I'd say most of foreigners lyrics are more mature than a lot of the stones bigger rock tunes No but I don't think I have ever seen Chuck Berry and Foreigner in the same sentence tog

Quotedmay Willie Nelson - "For The Good Times - A Tribute to Ray Price". Classic country. What a sweet album. Y'all need to find it. Makes you realize there ain't no c*nt in country music today, as Carlene Carter (Johnny Cash's daughter) once said about country music. And, if y'all haven't heard it, here's the late great Ray Price with For The Good Times.

Quotelaf848 I purchased the Exile on Main Street album the day it was released and I loved it then. I just could not stopped listening to it. I remember playing it for my friends, it became our party album. Layla is my 2nd favorite album, which I played many times. Blue and Lonesome I have played around 30 times, and I love every song. I think It's Fantastic. Everybody has their own opin

Quotedmay Great song from CB and covered well by Carlos Santana on his Havana Moon album which, IMHO, is the best solo thing ever done by Carlos. Looking forward to the Stones video. Agree 100%. Santana is backed by the Fabulous Thunderbirds on that entire CD. Even has a duet with Willie Nelson on the CD. "One With You" is also a killer song on that album/CD.

Love that picture of Mick & Dolly. I guess Mick still laments Dolly as the one that got away. Quotejambay Quotehopkins If respecting a deep songwriter and musician and outright historic talent gets you disqualified from being considered a Stones fan here, sign me right up and out. I'll be behind Keith and Mick in the line tho. She started writing hits in '64, teamed up wit

Glad Page/Plant beat it. IMO this case was BS all the way. As I said earlier in this thread they (P/P) have left themselves vulnerable to this type of thing by clearly not giving credit where credit was due on a few songs in the past. This though looked like a case of rank opportunism by a shady lawyer and cohorts.

I'd take JJ over Slowhand any day... Cale wrote a few masterpieces while Clapton's career is riddled with embarrassments. What masterpieces? And his guitar play is a joke at best. Have not heard the entire new CD. Did see the interview last night with EC and Glyn Johns. The guy (Paul Whitehouse) that showed up at EC's house to interview EC and Glyn Johns was awful and ruined what could have been a very interesting interview/conversation. Whitehouse was absolutely annoying and blabbered nonsensical BS the entire time! Whitehouse tried to be cute and funny but c

Quotekeefriff99 Quotewhitem8 CNN did a segment yesterday with the writer of The Sun, the Moon, and The Rolling Stones. Gordon is who took credit for the piano coda and that is who was given writing credit. Clapton had to argue to get Gordon that credit. Coolidge's beef should be with Gordon, who if Coolidge really had anything to do with the piano coda, Gordon should have given her credit for that. We all know why Coolidge isn't barking up that tree - Gordon is in the looney bin. Whether she h

I actually like the studio "I Can't Let You Do It." Might be something that winds up in my CD player. The live from Budokan 1st night "I Will Be There" sounds like a good bathroom break song at a concert. Of course the Japanese audience loves everything EC. Just my 2 cents but I think the Stairway thing is BS. You could claim this on any song. Zep though have left themselves vulnerable to this type of thing by clearly not giving writing credits where credits were due in the past. Without a doubt Jimmy Page copied several old blues songs and never bothered to give credits where credits were due. I think he was probably at the time - given som
