Quotedetroitken Since this was released in the Beggers Banquet 50 yr anniv. package i guess its now official... Although it was included with the BB ABKCO package, thus making it 'official', ABKCO would not be able to legally claim copyright on this recording. Even if they paid for the phone call! It is in the public domain. In the USA at least, spoken word recordings, especially pri

QuoteGivenToFly15 I totally agree with you. The 1972 versions of YCAGWY are the best of their career. Very raw and simple - and at the same time, very lyrical and emotional (IMO), mostly thanks to Mick Taylor. The 1973 are already too much to me, with the horns and everything. I wish the Stones could release a full 1972 show with real stereo sound... Isn't "Ladies and Gentlemen"

QuoteIrix QuoteRoscoe Is the DVD region free? says for all 4 DVD-Editions: "Region: Region 2 (This DVD will probably NOT be viewable in other countries." Same at - . The only way to tell for sure is to examine the rear of the package and view the printed region code. Product descriptions are often wrong. Amazon USA says the bluray is region 1!!

To me this always sounded like the backing track used for the Ed Sullivan show performance. Could very well be a mono guitar with an edited insert with the CBS violinists overdubbed on a second track.

The "Magnificent Mile" shopping area is along North Michigan Avenue. Michigan Avenue borders the west side of Grant Park. This shopping district is much further north of Soldier Field, but not that much of a walk from the north end of Grant Park. Grant Park is rather large. Take a look on Google Maps. The areas are all safe.

The downtown area of Chicago is separated from Lake Michigan by a large park known as Grant Park. Similar to Central Park in New York annd Hyde Park in London, it's a large city recreational area comprised of playing fields for baseball and soccer, picnic areas, gardens, monuments and cultural facilities. The park is 1.3 square kilometers in size and is divided by streets. On the north

In my humble opinion this Beggars Banquet anniversary reissue is a thoroughly pointless release.

Quotetimbernardis Quotemidimannz I've been hoping since I saw Gimme Shelter (1971) to view a whole 1969 concert in one seemless show. I thought about giving it a go myself but lacked the source info to start so do you have enough info and footage to where u could put together an entire show and maybe post it on YouTube? And I don't think it would b necessary to have it all from one s

As fans we all have opinions about the band as artists and musicians. I, for one, would not want to see "The Rolling Stones" without Charlie. However, the band members obviously see themselves additionally as owners and shareholders in a financial empire known as "The Rolling Stones". Otherwise they never would have signed contracts to that effect. It was on this very w

If I remember correctly, the recording of "Wild Horses" with strings was mentioned a few years ago by a well known engineer who was working either on the 2 CD deluxe version of Sticky Fingers or the soundtrack for Crossfire Hurricane. He commented that he came across a variety of outtakes in his search for possible tracks to include in the release. He mentioned only the existence of the

I listened to this with headphones. What an amazing revelation! The "LIVEr" LP was the first bootleg I ever bought way back in 1969. I am familiar with every note on the recording. Also have listened to the Bill Graham soundboard recording over and over. When I learned there was an alternate source available I thought that it would be a worthwhile project for someone to sync the recordi

Yes, it was on laser disc as well and that is the highest quality version. Interestingly, it featured an abbreviated version of YCAGWYW from the Rock and Roll Circus which had a different video edit and a different audio mix than found on the official ABKCO version which was released several years later. IMHO it is a much more thorough and comprehensive biography of the band than Crossfire Hu

The Rolling Stones Everybody Needs Somebody To Love The Rolling Stones No. 2 Everybody Needs Somebody To Love The Rolling Stones Now! The longer, slower version which features a rather plodding, careful, deliberate build-up of instruments (as if the band is rehearsing the song) was issued on the UK album The Rolling Stones No. 2 and was never issued in the USA until it appeared as a bonus
