It certainly would make a difference if they have assigned seats on the field or general admission as you still see in Europe. The last shows in America for general admission was the 81 tour. Everything since then has been reserved seating on the floor. The reserved seating certainly makes for a more gentile evening, but it does impact the crowd response. I've been down in the pit more t

I first saw the Who bit in the 1979 release of The Kids Are All Right. After seeing the finished product I always wondered why the Stones hesitated to put it out...it is fantastic.

Which Rolling Stone concert that you personally attended had the largest crowd? I was at the July 11, 1995 show at Wembley, but I'm not certain of the crowd size. The largest crowd I personally saw was the December 5, 1981 show at the New Orleans Superdome, 87,500.

I just read in the Pensacola News Journal that the Black Crowes will be performing in Pensacola at our Springfest celebration on May 22. This is very exciting news for a small town.

I saw the Black Crows open for the Stones in Wembley in 95. A most unispired concert. I was very dissappointed. It almost seemed they "threw" the show...like in a prize fight where a boxer just hits the mat without being punched. They didn't even try.

I saw the Neville Brothers open for the Rolling Stones on December 5, 1981 at the Superdome in New Orleans!

Just the other day I saw my all time favorite bumper sticker. It read, "I still hate Yoko." I laughed out loud. Yoko added nothing to Lennon's music, nothing! She had rock star aspirations with no, and I mean no talent.

No kidding, the worst? I saw Van Halen open for the Stones in 78 and 81 and both times I thought they were great. Wow! What was the problem?

I will get kicked off the board for this one, but I recall passing the Tangerine Bowl on the way back to Pensacola during the Sunday show. We were coming from West Palm Beach and our timing was pure agony for me. We could have easily bought a pair of $18 tickets for the second show, but my ride had to get back to Pensacola because of his job. I wanted to strangle him. At the end of the Happy

I believe I stand corrected. Keith had discovered Rebel Yell during that time frame. I recall bying a bottle just becuase I had seen Keith drink it. It was terrible as I recall. Gimme Jack Daniels anyday.

I don't need the live versions to sound exactly like the record...but when the guitar sound is just a mess...that's hard to take. I prefer the guitar sound of the 78 tour to the 81 tour. I remember the first Orlando show Keith downing almost an entire bottle of Jack Daniels on stage.

This is a great photo...I clearly remember Rolling Stone using another photo of the shoes as evidence of the crowd's disatisfaction with the show. I never knew Jagger called for the shoes. What a hoot! And shame on Rolling Stone.

I was there for the first show. Down front with the masses and the heat. Great show...I thought the sound was a bit muddy myself. Great crowd and great day. Van Halen was a fine opening act. I have an audience recording of the first show...the one where we sing Happy Birthday to Bill Wyman.

The Stones 89 New Orleans show was the toughest Stones ticket to date. The show had sold out in three hours. I was down front for the 78 and 81 show, but these were reserve seats. Our seats were dead center, but on the very top row of the Dome. I believe during Miss You, Jagger, dressed in the goldish / green short jacket of that tour, came down to the floor to get the crowd to sing along on

Jagger also came down on the floor of the New Orleans Superdome on the Steel Wheels tour and experienced a similar event. He didn't go through the crowd, but he hit the floor - stage right....and a near riot started. Very exciting show.

Ya Yas' was my first Rolling Stones album. It set the tone and the pace for all of the others. The more an album sounded like Ya Yas, the better I liked it. The hard edged guitar sound was never really to be repeated again. By the time of Some Girls...the guitar sound had muddied into somewhat of a mess. I'm not just knocking Ronnie Wood, because the guitars area mess on Exile as w

It's very fashionable to blast Hot Stuff these days, but I recall how much I loved that song in 1976. It was always blasting from my 8-track player in my 1973 Plymouth Duster.....Hot Stuff can't get enough!

Van Halen in 1981 in Orlando. Van Halen was on top of the world and put on one hell of a show. What a waster that band turned out to be.

I was down front in New Orleans for the 78 tour. The sound was great...but I was right down front. I've heard others describe the sound system as terrible for this tour. What about the sound system for the Licks Tour? I had heard various bad reports about the bad sound (depending upon your location) system and when I saw the show in Atlanta the sound was just not that good. I've se

There will always be some Stone fans who will forever lament the loss of Mick Taylor's guitar playing. My question, what happened to the sound of Keith Richards' guitar crunch? There seems to be a dinstict difference between the 70's and the later years. Was a gear change, amp change, guitar tech change....?I think the guitar sound is more subtle in the later years......not just

I have loved all the intros for all of the various tours, but what about the video entry for the No Security Tour? That was so great. Coming out of the elevator. Very unique, very, very cool!

I saw the movie on back to back showing the first Friday night it opened. I loved it....it was a very good representative of the 81 tour. I loved Beast of Burden as the sun was setting. I was always a bit dissappointed in the sound....I can't put my finger on it....but the sound seemed ordinary, not up to the Rolling Stones standard.

And when I get home in the morning, I want some satisfaction....in the morning??? What a fantastic line. Jagger, after whoring about all night, wants some "satisfaction." The Stones at their politically incorrect best.

That was really good. Reminded me of Clapton's acoustic version of Layla. Maybe you have something here. Much superior to the 81 tour's growled version of Satisfaction.

I'll get blasted for this, but the main difference between McCartney's last tour and the Stones last tour was the quality of sound. McCartney had the best sound system I had ever heard. The Licks tour was booming and a bit dissappointing.

I've heard the debate that Zepplin was bigger than the Stones in the 70's. Led Zepplin did sell more records, even though the Stones had 7 #1 albums in the 70's, but the Stones tours of 72, 75, & 78 outdrew the tours of Zepplin. The Rolling Stones were the #1 concert draw, at least in the United States, for the 1970's.
