I don't think the Stones have ever played anywhere in Eastern Canada (East of Quebec City). It would be the biggest show ever for the Maritimes.

I recall reading Philip Norman's (I think that's his name) book about the Stones which came out in the mid 80's. He said that on the 81 tour , there was a toilet somewhere in the back of the stage so if Mick had to use it, he could run off stage quickly.

Ironically, I was just watching Hail Hail Rock'n'Roll last night and watching how Johnnie played with such ease. I love the things Keith mentions about him in regards to how alot of the Chuck Berry riffs were originally Johnnie's piano riffs which Chuck adapted to guitar. RIP Johnnie.

Just read a review of Cher's show in London, Ontario which is fairly close to Toronto. It's the second time she's played there on her "farewell" tour, which is now into it's fourth year! She started touring in mid 2002. It's slated to end April 30 in Hollywood. I would imagine she'll take a year off before starting up her comeback tour! Hopefully if

The Who played Twist and Shout for their final song on their 1982 "farewell" tour in Toronto. Not sure if they played it before/after that. I believe John Entwistle sang. If you want to hear a real rocking version of Come Together, listen to Aerosmith's version on their Greatest Hits CD.

I wasn't there but I've seen the videos of the show. As a huge AC/DC fan, I can say that their performance was normal for them. If you watch any of their live DVD's like 91 Donington, No Bull or Stiff Upper Lip Live, you'll see that they always play a high energy show. As I mentioned in my Family Jewels thread from last week, I wish I could have seen them back when they wer

It would draw people from all the Maritime provinces and probably alot from all of the small states in the North Eastern US. I would think it would be the largest concert ever for that area.

Quite a few bands have recorded this song throughout the years. Nazareth's version is probably the most famous. I know Heart sang this, too. Who else has recorded it?

I always thought of Phil Rudd as being a more hard rock version of Charlie Watts. Malcolm is very under rated, although Angus is probably his biggest fan. I'm sure he'd be the first to say that AC/DC is Malcolm's band. I also think Cliff Williams is an under rated bass player, too.

Stu even got a songwriting credit for Boogie With Stu, which is basically Ooh My Head by Ritchie Valens (Mrs. Valens is also credited)! I wonder if he got partial credits for the Stones Nanker Phelge songs?

I believe that they had started recording in studio but the majority was done after Bon had died. Brian wrote some awesome lyrics for that album. It's weird that on the more recent albums, he doesn't write at all, it's all Malcolm and Angus.

Does anyone know what the current status of the RS Mobile studio is? I was just listening to Zeppelin 4 CD and reading the liner notes and see that most of the songs were recorded on the Mobile. I believe Stu used to look after it?

Hey Rorty. Sorry, I didn't realize different countries may have different dates for the seasons! I just assumed every country went with March 22, June 22, September 22 and December 22 as the dates that the seasons officially change!

Another part I forgot about is on the Gimme Shelter DVD when they're at Muscle Shoals studio listening to the early version of Wild Horses. In the middle of the song where there's the guitar solo, then Charlie comes in. The camera is on Charlie and he curls his lip and nods his head. Always thought that was a cool moment.

What really amazes me about AC/DC is that Bon died on Feb 19, 1980. Within five months, they had buried their lead singer, found a replacement, went into studios, recorded a new album and were out on tour! One of their first shows with Brian was in Vancouver in late July of 1980. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend that show. As far as their setlist goes, they're similar to wha

I honestly never new she was still around. I thought she was one of those one hit wonders from the early 70's that had one hit song then faded away! I've never heard anything from her on the radio, seen her on tv, or seen any of her music in any CD store. Perhaps she's popular in Europe but not in North America?

Summer in North America is June 22 to September 22, same as all over the world, except the weather is opposite south of the equator! Hence, the reason most bands tour Australia either early or late in the year when the weather's nice down there and snow up here.

Melanie and greatness?!? When I was really young, I recall her singing Brand New Key, which is the only song I (and probably most) know of hers. Deanna Carter, who's main hit Strawberry Wine which came out in the mid 90's, sang Ruby Tuesday on that Country music CD tribute to the Stones a few years back. Ironically, I saw a concert video of hers on tv a few years back and she sang

In response to Gazza, I don't think that the Stones themselves would have much say as to whether or not the BBC releases a The Stones at the BBC. As I mentioned originally, I would think that it would be Alan Klein who would have any say as to whether a Stones BBC CD would be released or not. Or, perhaps bands that appear on tv/radio shows give up control of the rights/future release to th

Bought the double DVD yesterday and it's awesome. First disc is the Bon Scott era and second is Brian Johnson era. It's the first disc that makes it really worthwhile. I'm a huge AC/DC fan, but I'd never seen any of those videos previously. The live videos are really great. Riff Raff, which is the version off of the live If You Want Blood album is excellent.
