I actually don't like the production on the album. I much prefer the heavy sound Mutt Lange gets. Coincidence that the three AC/DC albums he produced are their biggest sellers, Highway To Hell, Back In Black, Those About To Rock? Similar to Hard As A Rock in 96, the album went platinum but I don't think it garnered any new fans. Stones, Van Halen and AC/DC have been my three favorit

hey keefriff, The guys in Bon Jovi do seem like good guys. I've seen Richie Sambora on various talk shows and he is a likeable guy. Unfortunately, I'm not a huge fan of their music.

Both Sabbath and Deep Purple were awesome bands for the first half of the 70's. Purple had disbanded by 76 or so and Ozzy said one of the reasons he left Sabbath is because a young Van Halen opened for them in 78 and he said they just blew Sabbath off the stage! Glad that both bands have reunited over the years, though. Probably introduced them to a whole new generation of fans.

In all of the Stones books I've read, I've never read anything about this. I believe most of the club shows were under an hour. At that point in their career, they probably only had 50 songs or so to choose from. On their early tours, they usually played two concerts per day in each city.

I think the whole statement is tongue in cheek. However, I honestly don't understand how Bon Jovi are so popular in England (and the rest of Europe)? They're popular in New Jersey and have a dedicated following worldwide, but they definitely couldn't do a North American stadium tour, unless they want to play infront of alot of empty seats. I'm sure they wouldn't sell o

Not really familiar with Badfinger's history. Def Leppard do an awesome version of Badfinger's No Matter What on their current greatest hits CD.

Did they play Oh No? Rough Justice came on when the guy went into the biker bar and then Look What The Cat Dragged In came on when the bikers returned the dead body back to the morgue. I was surprised to hear the songs playing. Don't watch the show much but just happened to be watching it last night. Maybe they'll play more on tonight's Las Vegas, which is the conclusion to las

Bon Scott did choke on vomit. When I first saw Spinal Tap, I immediately thought of Bon when they were talking about one of their drummers choking on vomit... but someone else's vomit! As Derek Smalls said, Scotland Yard doesn't have the facilities to prove who's vomit it was, to which Nigel chimed in, "you can't really dust for vomit"!! Angus said Bon liked to dr

Jack Nitzsche deserves alot of credit. 40 Licks lists him as piano on Let's Spend The Night and choral arrangements on YCAGWYW. He also played harpsichord on Lady Jane and piano on several other songs in the mid 60's, mostly from the LA RCA Studio sessions.

I can actually see some CD's being reissued in the new dual disc format, one side CD and the other side DVD commentary. I bought Back In Black (again) recently in this format and I see that some new releases are being issued this way in addition to releasing the regular way. I bought the new Sheryl Crow CD last week for $9.99 and they also had the dual disc version for $15.99 at FutureShop

Hi sssoul, I don't think the TAMI show was a playback. None of the songs is similar to the album versions. I haven't watched the show in quite a while but I never thought it was a playback, unlike some of the Ed Sullivan performances like Paint It Black or Let's Spend Some Time, where Mick's singing is live but they're just playing back the music.

Keith is playing solo on It's All Over Now. Brian plays the "choppy" sounding guitar which is prominent towards the end of the song. Their performance of the song on the TAMI show shows who's playing what part. Brian is playing the main riff on The Last Time. Not sure why Keith wouldn't play it. If you watch their performance on Ready Steady Go, you can see who'

I saw Brooks and Dunn on the Tonight Show a couple years ago. Not a fan or anything. Both Brooks and Dunn play guitars. If memory serves me correctly, they had three more guitarists in the background and a bass player. How complex is their music!?!? Also, didn't the Doobie Brothers have two drummers? Had to laugh when I saw Spinal Tap playing Big Bottom with Nigel Tufnel and Derek Small

Hi SF37, Sticky Fingers had a different cover for Spain. It also had Let It Rock on it, not sure if it was a live version. Going from memory, I believe the cover was a hand coming out of an open can of beans or something to that effect.

I think one must realize that Bon Jovi's fan base is overall alot younger than the Stones is. Younger fans are generally the ones that buy the albums. I'm sure that he'll have a couple good weeks to start off where all his die hard fans go out and buy the album then it'll fade.

I think Aerosmith are an awesome band. Their 70's albums are classics, especially Toys in the Attic and Rocks. By 1980, the drugs and alcohol use ruined them. I remember reading an interview with Joe Perry at the time. He said he didn't even know that their record company released a greatest hits album until a fan came up and wanted it autographed. Not many bands can survive having

I don't think a cover is going to make or break sales. Look at Back In Black. Can barely make out the AC/DC logo let alone the title. I think this is where Spinal Tap got their inspiration for their Smell The Glove album cover! To quote the movie "how much more black can this album cover get? None, none more black, it can't get any blacker"!

I think AC/DC is in a similar situation to the Stones. I pretty much know what their setlist will be, since it's almost the same on every tour. Throw in a few new songs, the rest "war horses" with maybe two or three songs they don't play often. It's an impossible job trying to satisfy every fan. 95% of the crowd probably only want to hear greatest hits, while it

I seriously doubt there's going to be that big a demand for vinyl lp's. How many true audiophiles are there? I still have my Denon turntable hooked up but it's been quite a while since I've listened to an lp. Probably would have sold a couple thousand copies in the US, if that?
