Paul Weller? who's he to be comparing himself with true rock and roll legends? he better write his book now while there are still a handful of people interested in reading it...

will be seeing them on Nov. 14 in Newark. last time I saw them, they warmed up for the Red Hot Chili Peppers (circa 1999?)... they've come a long way since then, baby. Check out the documentary Back and Forth on them - well done.

I was never a huge Beatles fan, but this documentary is very well done. George was really an interesting, talented man. In addition to what others said, I really liked hearing Tom Petty tell his story about how George showed up with the ukulele's and also about the call when Roy Orbison died. Very touching, and Tom has an engaging way of telling a story.

I thought Around the Sun (contained Leaving NY) was brilliant, but guess I was in the minority. probably Wouldn't pay to see them live again, and haven't followed them closely for 20+ years, but it is sad in a way to see them breakup.

upon first listen, Energy, Miracle Worker and Common Ground got me going... whole thing is pretty damn good. It's not rock n'roll, but I like it. I dug Damian's Jamrock cd, so he's a familiar voice and adds alot. Joss has great pipes, sometimes she pushes it too much. Some of the Indian flourishes seem a little too "token" and a little odd for me, but the whole p

Never was a big fan, and don't really care for their biggest hit (Plush), but I saw them for the first time last Saturday in Atlantic City - and they were in top form, Weiland especially...and now I can't stop listening to them - new and old stuff. I think Weiland, despite all his well-publicized bumps in the road, is the most versatile singer in rock n' roll and I look forward to

Aerosmith, for the most part, after they almost OD'd in the early 80's. I wouldn't call Bruce Springsteen & E Street Band "sober". Bruce likes his whisky and beer (mostly after show) and, according to the most recent issue of Rolling Stone, the Big Man had a pre-show ritual of "weed and tequila" in recent years.. Federici had some issues with drinking (an

Quotehbwriter Thanks - i meant it sincerely And hey - I just remembered that Foreigner opened for the Stones in Philly - (with Peter Tosh if I recall) yes they did, at JFK in '78, and they kicked ass that day. Stones were sub-par, but that was the first time I ever saw them, so it was a thrill. keep up the good work, hbwriter

they'll only do it if the record sells well. And I bet it would be just a few gigs, no major tour. Single out tomorrow!

to answer tipps original question, Supertramp has not scheduled any US dates, which is kind of surprising as they were just in Canada, and now are going back to Europe, where they already toured last year (saw them in Zurich, and it was a really good show, despite Hodgson's absence)

the Big Man was loved by all and his presence was larger than life. His legend will live on as will his music, but it is a sad day for rock and roll, and life in general... to note the passing of time, which waits for no one.

it's definitely worth going to, even without Hodgson. One of the two "fake Rogers" they have replacing him is quite good, the other with the very high falsetto is kind of lame from a stage presence point of view. The instrumentals with full band were very well done, along with the lighting and overall presentation.

I've seen them on every tour since '78 (except Steel Wheels) and the show I saw at MCI Center, DC (with Coors as opener) during No Security tour was definitely the best. Highlights were Memory Motel, Some Girls, You Got the Silver (with Keith playing acoustic, seated) and Paint it Black - just a manic version.

they used to be one of my favorite bands, and their concert in 1984 (Philly, Spectrum) was the best show of my life - but after 2 lousy CD's and questionable decisions and projects (like Spiderman), U2 are so OVER now for me, it's kind of sad. Hoping that they get knocked off their pedestal and feel the hunger again that generated so many classic tunes and moments.
