I wonder how inspired EC was playing on "Champagne and Reefer" given his long standing sobriety and support for his rehab center in Antigua. Yes, I'd expect him to play the blues, but song doesn't fit him. Red Rooster would have been better.

great review, Gazza. It's only rock n' roll, but I like it and guess it's worth the $800...

waiting for prices to come down on Stubhub, which shows over 2,000 tickets available for EACH of the NY/NJ shows.

been checking stubhub for Newark shows and lowest ticket price dropped from $400 to $300 in one day - probably due to Brooklyn show sale.. expect it to drop more as date approaches.. hoping to pay no more than $250 for a decent seat in the end (still too much, but it's only rock n' roll)

So, I pulled up two tix in the 3rd row of the balcony and they wanted $900 each! This show is for the 1% - rich bankers who don't feel any guilt or pain in shelling out this kind of money. I'll watch it on PPV, but I'm not contributing to this madness. (I bet the crowd will be pretty lame, too). Hope they tour for the other 99% next year - with (more) reasonable prices.

saw them in NYC last month - truly a great band playing with Ian, and the new album is quite good (Fatally Flawed is my favorite)

better than anything off Bigger Bang, Woody's guitar work is stellar - just wish there was more of a lead part, and it ends kind of abruptly. Look forward to hearing it live!

saw him in NYC a few weeks ago - new album is great! check out Fatally Flawed, for example. He's got a tight band with him, too.

I'm seeing this Friday at the Highline in NYC. Saw him last year with the Rant band in Brooklyn, and he rocked out like it was nobody's business.

I loved the solo by whatever his name is on the FF - ripped intensely with teeth on a Tele like it was meant to be played (and sadly has not been the last few times I've seen it live)

from vhnd.com: Van Halen have postponed 31 dates on their 2012 North American tour. The postponed shows were to run from July 7 in Uncasville, CT through Sept. 25 in Milwaukee, WI. No official reason has been given for the postponements, and there’s no word yet on when the rescheduled dates will be announced. (Note that these dates have been POSTPONED, not canceled. Several shows on Van Ha

VH is smoking on this tour and their new CD is really good. Hopefully EVH hasn't fallen off the wagon because he has been sober and playing his ass off. These gigs have been postponed, so they will reschedule and play them later in the year.

Quotestones78 QuoteUGot2Rollme I imagine Gary Moore blew him off stage?... What? Taylor could play circles around Moore, especially if it was blues stuff. maybe in the late 60's early 70's, but not in 2004, imo.

There's a long thread out there somewhere.. I was there and it was a great evening. Surprisingly, Rickie Lee Jones solo acoustic of Sympathy I thought was most powerful. Also a great version of Wild Horses by Jackson Browne and Marc Cohn, and Gimme Shelter with Roseanne Cash and band, including John Sebastian on harmonica. Great evening for a very worthy cause.

Thanks for the review. The Buddy Guy / Johnny Lang tour hits New Jersey in June, and I've scored 6 row tickets - very psyched!

Quoteab Sounds like a sweet double bill. What was the venue? a place called the Bell House, a converted old warehouse - I would say holds a 500 hundred people (?) - was sold out.

QuoteSway714 If you think this was a fitting tribute to THE ROLLING STONES...You need to get out more. With the exception of a few...Nobody brought their "A" game. Ian Hunter acted as if he never listened to the words to "19th Nervous Breakdown" before in the last 40 years. This was a tribute to The Stones in New York City @ Carnegie Hall...Not a bunch of garage bands playi

Ruby Tuesday - Art Garfunkel - great to see him, but he struggled (surprisingly) on some high notes, his pianist seemed to be covering for him at times. I actually thought it was his pianist who sang a couple of bum harmonies, not Art. But, whatever, when they were on, which was most of the

I was at the show, which was very well done, though a little strange seeing the stage completely lit up for the whole time. I guess that's what they do for orchestras, but would have appreciated some different lights. Anyway, on with the show.. in order of appearance (with my ratings/comments): 1. YCAGWYW - Jovanotti, members of TV on the radio, and a high school choir. the choir

I've never been a big fan of McCartney or the Beatles but I saw him in NY city this summer and he put on one of the most joyful concerts I have ever witnessed. He was also quite good with the crowd (of over 60,000), telling stories, etc - a great showman and I would probably see him again if given the chance.
