Quoterbk I'm sure Ghost Hounds will be back to play their staid, soulless rock and roll. I've heard openers PAY the Stones in exchange for the exposure and that the leader of Ghosthounds (the older guy on keyboards at stage right) is some retired software developer with mega-bucks who hired a band straight out of central casting so as to live out his rock and roll fantasies. Anybody els

QuoteProfessorWolf i'm still dipping my toes into bowie's stuff but this is the best quality i've ever seen the 1980 floor show is this the official channel for the midnight special and if so does that mean this is an official release? Faithfull sings As Tears Go By just after the Bowie segment.

QuoteRollingFreak QuoteElmo Lewis I gotta add that the album with Jimmy Page is the best Zep live product. While I think its very good, I don't necessarily think thats true. To me, nothing tops How The West Was Won. That is Zep at their peak. Its actually a little before their peak, before they really indulged in it a little too much. That recording is just so in your face awesome. Having

QuoteDoxa Here it comes. Brian has described his ambition as a musician that he is after sounds. He had a wonderful ear for that. What is peculiar with Brian is that his contributions have turned out to be timeless - they still today work and sometimes even shine like they did back then, no matter simple or whatever they were. That's true musicianship - no bullshitting or making art for the

QuoteTaylor1 QuoteMathijs QuoteTaylor1 QuoteMathijs QuoteTravelinMan Give me a couple songs to check out and I'm sure I could knock them out a lot quicker than it took me any of Hendrix's ballads or Taylor's Brussels Gimme Shelter solos at full speed. Try Keith's part of Beast of Burden, note for note. Or Ronnie's solos on Black Limo, Neighbours, Shattered or 20 Flight

QuoteThe Worst. I was just reading an old Rolling Stone’ article from the 1975 tour, where The Stones are heavily criticized for high ticket prices: 10 dollars each. One could argue that they have always been accused of high prices, but always sell out etc. However, 10 dollars in 1975 equals 60 dollars in 2024. Ticket prices of 600 dollars in 2024, would be 100 dollars in 1975. In other words: Th

Quotecrholmstrom QuoteNashvilleBlues The grass ticket I got for Pearl Jam (Indiana) was $81. Seems pretty reasonable to me. The new song is really good. I like it. Excited about the new (Andrew Watt produced) album. Word is that it rocks harder than recent PJ releases.

QuoteSomeTorontoGirl I’ve seen the Ghost Hounds open several times now and (bracing myself for hoots of scorn and derision…) I really enjoy them! Their singer is damn fine. I’d be happy to see their name on the list. I don’t hate them, just don’t like how they pay $1M to open. Don’t know why it bothers me. It just does.

Quotecyclist QuoteNashvilleBlues Still no word on the previously leaked March 27 Ryman date. Only 5 weeks away. Not looking good for Nashville... I believe it'll happen. Probably hasn't been announced since the other shows are selling poorly. I doubt Bob would pass on the Ryman because of slow sales elsewhere... Hope so, but he played there 2 years ago. I wish they (video) recorded

Quoteslewan QuoteNashvilleBlues Expanded tour dates below. On sale 2/2. No Ryman (Nashville) on March 27 even though it was leaked last week. Odd... Maybe they're trying to see how Memphis sells first. since the gaps in the tour schedule are not filled I guess they announce the shows they(!) leaked in a few days. The 'newly' announced shows are the same that leaked before – e

PIT was $210 plus fees in Franklin, TN. Bought 4 in the 300s for $118 each plus fees (max allotted amount) as soon as I got in. No PITs available right as they went on sale, but 5 minutes later, PIT popped up (now sold out, at least they're not available right now).

QuoteTaylor1 Quotedmay "He was absolutely the best guitar player of his generation...." A nice read about Michael Bloomfield. The Paul Butterfield Blues Band album, East-West, with Bloomfield on lead guitar is so good. Also check out the album Fathers And Sons album with Bloomfield working with Muddy Waters for a great blues session. Such a shame the man's demons took him too so
