QuoteCaptainCorella Quoteterraplane ...there is the belief by some that vaccinations could be driving the variants (at least if I understand the below correctly): There are four major risks associated with high numbers of infections. These are an increase in hospitalisations and deaths, more ‘Long-COVID’; workforce absences (including in the NHS); and the increased risk of new variants emergin

QuoteSilver Dagger QuoteSomeTorontoGirl QuoteSilver Dagger Get ready everyone. For wild excitement or crushing disappointment? Wild excitement. Hey, these days I'll happily grasp onto the flimsiest, vaguest scrap of hope anyone tosses out. Even if unfounded, if only for a brief change of pace from the Doom And Gloom on here lately.

Quotespikenyc 3 friends of mine that attended the Peach Festival last weekend in Scranton PA have tested positive. They were all vaccinated and are experiencing mild to moderate symptoms. They were no masks or covid protocols in place for the weekend. Two questions: What was the rate of full vaccination for Scranton and its surrounding county? (Pick but specify your measure: full populatio

For those who hide in a shack in the woods like a unibomber and never interact with another soul, fine, don't get vaxxed if you don't want to, nobody gives a f**k. Everybody else, though, you're part of human society, like it or not. A global pandemic is killing millions, science has come up with a way to stop it, and if you refuse to help, then you are one of the people enablin

The NYT keeps up a table of the states' vax levels. Of course it's tracked multiple ways. At least 1 dose, fully vaccinated, total population, Ages 12+, Ages 18+. For simplicity I watch mostly Ages 18+ Fully Vaccinated. As of July 7, 2021, using that measure, these were the vax rates in the 13 states where the 2020 tour's 14 U.S. concerts were postponed: Calif 61.5

One of my favorite tracks on an album that when I was in high school blew my mind start to finish. If giving Mick the guitar lead is what holds it back from being played live, then give Mick the fukkin lead.

QuoteGasLightStreet The Unvaccinated Of The Americas will be the reason why The Rolling Stones do not tour NA this year. If this fall's tour doesn't happen, then yep, that'll be why. That's been increasingly on my mind during this extended wait, as we've simultaneously watched vaccinations in a lot of states stall out. We have our states that are over 60% vaxxed amo

Quotebam People, please. The question is not "What's your favorite American rock band of all time?" or "list your 10 favorite American bands." It's "What's the best American rock band of all time?" There would be only two possible answers if the question were "What's the best rock band of all time?" Either the Beatles or the Stones

QuoteTumblinDice76 Still have my tickets too. Didn't make much sense to get a refund for me. If they reschedule, I already have my tickets, if they cancel, well then no need to be on the phone with Ticketmaster, my credit card gets refunded with no work by me. Not sure I understand the thought process of getting a refund for a postponed show unless you bought tix to multiple shows and/o

About the tour dates' sequencing: In 2020 the Pittsburgh show was to be 39 days after Minneapolis'. Don't know if this has been pointed out yet, but IF the Aug 28 and Oct 3, 2021 dates that have been talked about here both turn out to be correct (a big if, I know) that would put Pittsburgh 37 days after Minneapolis. Which might suggest they're trying to not just sche

New poster here! Not a new "user," tho. I've lurked here off and on since the late 2000s. Dec 2018 - July 2019 IORR was a particularly useful resource in deciding to go to the Stones July 3 Washington DC concert, and my learning some of the ins and outs of that ahead of time. For a good while before that I'd been going to only medium-to-small venue rock concerts, and so I'
