Quotetreaclefingers QuoteFrogSugar I would buy the Paris Olympia show on CD in an instant! Killer setlist, killer show... Yes that was lovely. I haven't tried but must be an easy way to rip that from the DVD. I downloaded one from somewhere and have the show on mp3...but I'd still like a clean store copy ;-)

I went to visit Edith Grove right before one of the "recent" Stones shows in London. I was honestly disappointed and felt like I'd wasted my time (I regretted not going to the Sticky Fingers restaurant instead!). It was just another house on the street. As it was a show day, I guess I expected other fans to be there, maybe share a beer in the sun with them. Silly me lol...!

QuoteMarkdog I think Van Halen, Judas Priest and Motley Crue are hard rock not metal. My fav metal song is a parody.... The Metal by Tenacious D It all depends on the songs: Painkiller (Priest) and Looks that Kill (Motley) are metal IMHO while Living after Midnight and She Goes Down by same lean more towards hard rock. Van Halen leans more toward hard rock, but metalheads love VH! VH eve

Thanks for all the responses. Surprised there are so many, I have a hard time imagining a band where one member is suddenly not on a song. But then again, I realise that with the Stones things are different, they've recorded in dozens of different studios and they're not always all on the same continent at the same time!

...aside from You Can't Always Get What You Want? Been listening to all my Stones albums since Wednesday, and when this one came up I wondered if that's the only song he doesn't drum on or if there are others.

Charlie likely would have wanted them to proceed with this and any future tours. And as a fan I prefer "any" Stones than "no" Stones. Decision is in their camp, and I respect any decision they make, they've earned the right to do whatever the hell they want. R.I.P. Charlie, miss you already...

Quotemakim Back to the initial question: yes, I think a Tattoo You deluxe version will be out soon! Although the tracks were outtakes from various sessions, I agree that it was "the last great Stones record". AWESOME! Haven't been online in a few days, but seeing this thread become a "sticky" today (in a seaside bar with wifi in southern France Hendaye-style) I was

Quotebleedingman QuoteFour Stone Walls Quotetatters You don't hear rock stars using words like "extrapolate" or "machinations" very much nowadays. Indeed. A serious lowering in standards took place after the republican/conservative revolution of the late 7Os and 80s. What an asinine statement. You people are relentless. I used to work at the one in La Jolla, CA. They would make all employees rotate tasks, so everyone ended up having to work on the classical/jazz side of the store, which had a glass partition so that they would hear different music from the "rock side" of the store. I hated working in classical; customers would ask me questions about jazz/classical albums and I'd be all "so
