lunar - Can you remember where you heard that Anna Wohlin committed suicide? It's not that I don't believe you, but I have just spent 45 mins googling her to try and find out more and haven't come across a single reference to her having died.

Blimey, it's possibly total bullshit but glimpsing at that thread that His Majesty pointed out, led me to another thread with this: Posted by Roxanne on 1/26/2009, 8:36:35, in reply to "Re: "Sure I Do"....etc. " 62.231.146.140 Oh boy.. the tape, single tape, that is, was FOUND by james (Karnbach) at olympic studios in the mid 70s.. He went there, he found a tape th

lunar - Aren't you mistaking Anna Wohlin for Janet Lawson (the nurse) who died recently? As far as I'm aware Wohlin is still with us.

Could the woman who died have been Madelaine D'Arcy? Marianne Faithfull in her song 'Lady Madelaine' about her friend who OD'd (I think) sings "Spanish Tony don't know what to do; his strange world has all fallen through"

Echoes of Syd Barrett, sometimes consciously I think. The Soft Boys were fantastic live and on record esp. Underwater Moonlight. Saw their last gig in '78 I think & then their 2001 reunion tour which was almost as good as first time around. Love his first solo album esp. Acid Bird but he started getting erratic after that IMO. Some real gems though. Check out the doc called 'Sex, Fo

Only because that's all most brain-dead journalists ask about in interviews. In fact she sometimes refuses point-blank to talk about Mick. "Dangerous Acquaintances was the last powerhouse record. The rest is cabaret chanteuse stuf that's been done for years." - Actually her last album was her best since Broken English & far better than most Stones albums of the last 25

I think Charlie Weber's son is now an actor in 'Medium', playing Patricia Arquette's husband. If I remember correctly he met up with Jagger in LA & just wanted to talk about his memories of Nellcote & Mick got defensive & snubbed him.

It's more exciting than Ya Yas though obviously more primitive musically. It's Alright and I'm Moving On are thrillng in a raising the hairs on the back of your neck-type way. Only a handful of other live songs have this effect on me; Ball & Chain by Janis at Monterey is one that comes to mind. I'm now excited by the thought of these outtakes that have been mentioned. W

As someone pointed out above As tears Go By predates Yesterday by some way so Lennon was talking out of his arse (again). Perhaps the Beatles were inspired by ATGB & never admitted it! I read in a 60's NME or Melody Maker that Lennon was inspired by the lyrics to 19th Nervous Breakdown which makes sense as the same sort of surreal with a hint of satire, but very English wordiness crops

Hey Loog Droog, I remember that at the Fox Venice Theatre: I was on holiday there at the time; summer '79 I think. I almost went but something prevented me (can't recall what now but it must have been something serious).
