But she has given varying versions and she has indicated that it was Keylock who had threatened her and inhited her from speaking up for so long so perhaps she was just too scared to tell all. Now he's dead of course, you would think she could relax a bit...

I'm pretty sure this was wiped. There is a clip from a BBC 60's night about 15 years ago with Whitehouse talking about the prog and how she found Mick very "charming" (yeeuucchh)

So many different versions. You would think any of the Stones could say definitively if Keylock was still working for them up to or after Brian's death. I don't know why Cutler would lie about this though. Keylock himself told Geoffrey Giuliano ('Paint It Black') twice and in front of witnesses that he was at Cotchford at the time of Brian's death, despite all his stor

"Look at the Stones warning the Beatles away from Klein yet they still went." Well actually, the Stones, Keith in particular recommended Klein to the Beatles!

Thanks Squiggle, I hadn't read this but was amazed to find Cutler saying basically the same thing as me. The only part that I am uneasy with is the stuff about the two friends of Brian's who arrived at the scene and witnessed Brian being held underwater. I am fairly sure this is a reference to Nicholas Fitzgerald who wrote a book about it. I'm not sure why, as he was a friend o

I'd much rather have a new album, especially if it's good, than another tour, if that's the choice.

The 'deathbed confession' was only made to Tom Keylock, and Thorogood's relatives deny he made it at all (I think possibly deny that Keylock was ever alone at the hospital with Frank T.) It certainly deflected accusing fingers away from Keylock though... It's worth bearing in mind that Keylock suggested hiring Thorogood in the first place. Also why did the Stones dispense w

Thanks for reminding me of 'Rolling On' Kent, I just had to reach for the sick bag. Yes that was possibly even worse. You make a good case for Gambaccini Edward & far more articulately than he did, but I still think he's a tosser.

What a pile of old crap that was. You'd have to work pretty hard to make a documentary about the Stones tedious but they managed it. There may have been an original thought in there somewhere but if so I yawned at that point and missed it. I'd only ever heard Gambaccini slag them off before & I guess the only reason he got the gig was for his Asperger's chart knowledge. The b

Yesterday the Freeview channel that is at 10pm (UK) I wouldn't get too excited judging by the following review but it has to be worth a view: "Documentary. A cheap film that charges through half a century of the Stones in an hour and consequently offers very little that's new, thus failing to live up to the title. With no Stones music or band interviews, contributors Paul Gambacc

I think they can take it. Perhaps it's the cost of being so overrated for so many years, the backlash was inevitable.

We need a great new legacy-sealing album more than yet another tour flogging warhorses. A tour where they actually play most of the new album would be very welcome...

"Are Happy and All Down the Line the same versions as in L & G, or are they the additional versions that turned up in audio..." Interesting as these are the 2 tracks I have on video which are definitely outtakes, not the takes in the movie (they were once screened on the BBC btw on OGWT). Mind you, it might be coincidental that it is these 2 songs & the doc is using the actua

As usual Gazza is spot on. The poster does say Turner Purple or, I thought, Turner's Purple. I always thought this was the name of Turner's band back in the day.

I wouldn't put a lot of weight on this tale. We only have it from Mick's pov don't we (?) and he himself can't tell what year, or often, what album a track is from when playing it live. Keith doesn't remember (or claims not to) recording several of the Exile outtakes at all. The fan (if he actually exists) may have been the only one who knew his stuff but Mick thought the

Oh come on, the context of the song is the perceived injustice meeted out to Angela Davis, black woman, teacher & radical. It is clearly a message of support to her and by extension her race. The 'n' word is how people referred to her,how people objectified her, so informed part of her reality. Why be pathetically squeamish of a word rather than see the song in context as a tribute

"One comment by Taylor (on the fact that he didnt want to move to France as he had no need to be a tax exile) and a couple by Wyman." - I was going to mention this Gazza. In fact if they were interviewed at all (rather than 'found' quotes) I think it must have consisted of the journalist shouting a question as they got out the limo and before they walked into the hotel. Thanks Gazza, I haven't seen the Guardian today. I'm looking forward to this making of Exile doc now, whether or not it will be included with the reissue. Shame I missed Cut 31 though, as there may be different material from the finished doc.
