QuoteBungo The new single is simply a re-make of Black Limousine from Tattoo You. In the sense that it's blues? If that's the case, they have many, many remakes.

Quotedadrob The only person I can tell is on that is Mick. The slide doesn't sound like Ronnie's licks and the rest is just that current " Sounds Loud" dance business. No awful but hardly much of anything compared to the best of their best Sounds to me like Ronnie’s Zemaitis tuned to open E.

Shifting gears a bit, I don’t think this track was completely finished at the tjme of HD’s release. At the very least, Mick wrote the lines about tyranny and conspiracy after you-know-who was reelected.

Quote20kGrandmas what lyric does Mick sing at 1:41? I took a crack at all the lyrics a couple pages ago. I think the verse you’re looking for is All you feed me was rats, and rice, and bones All I drank was muddy water It’s as lonely as a saxophone

First crack at lyrics. Open to corrections! Why don't you drive me Down that rough and twisted road Why don't you guide me 'Cause I don't know which way to go Promise to take me To where the water glows Somewhere down in Puerto Rico Where the tide just ebbs and flows Flash me all your jewelry, poetry, and friends Promise me a dance like Nijinsky Nothing, nothi

Not sure Loudmouth website saying "vinyl only" means it won't be streaming. They're getting their information second- or third-hand. Could just mean it won't be on CD. I'd be shocked if it wasn't available to download/YouTube, etc.

QuoteStonesSmeth99 It feels like there has to be a live element to this - yes we've read all the comments, the updates (much appreciated). But why go with the Cockroaches otherwise? Minor minor chance of that April 11 date announcing a show and you need to be around London to have a chance of nearby tickets? Not expecting that, and happy irrespective. Some super-fans around London mid-Apri

In America, at least, most people say “blest” in normal conversation, as in, “I’ve been roundly blessed.” “BLESS-id” is usually reserved for formal religious liturgy — “BLESSid art thou among mothers.”

QuoteStonedRambler You guys underestimate how long video production takes sometimes. 4-5 months are a totally reasonable time for a video to be produced, depending on the complexity. Could be summer, but could be autumn too. I‘d say autumn. The Mixed Emotions video, which was mostly a break from tour rehearsals, took about five minutes!

I like to think of Dirty Work has Keith's pre-Winos solo album, with "Too Rude" and "Sleep Tonight" as a template for things to come.

Quotepeoplewitheyes I love Ronnie, but he and his shows are very small fry compared to the juggernaut and name recognition of the Stones (even though that is diminishing by the day). Recall the story by Bill German how a release party for "Slide on This" quickly became a "Main Offender" release party when Keith arrived.

It's possible you saw one of the podcasts I've done with Justin of Hang Fire. (If not, disregard!) What I said was -- in my opinion! -- the best Stones songs *tend to be* the ones Keith begins and Mick finishes (Satisfaction, HTW, Jumping Jack Flash, Street Fighting Man, and on and on). There are obvious exceptions. This is not a hard and fast rule. They don't often work this

The Xmas idea comes from the release dates of Hackney Diamonds or Blue & Lonesome. If the new studio album wasn't released end of May / early June, then a release end of 2026 sounds more likely (especially without live shows). If you want to split hairs, I

My impression of the "18-month plan" was that it wasn't just $$ for promoting singles or videos, but also a concerted effort to level up the band's presence on streaming platforms. I saw no evidence of that, at any point, and they've only gone backwards since then.
