Really good. Thanks for finding and posting. Not once did they mention the subtracting of the hi-hat on the fourth beat! A miracle! This helped make sense for me why I fell in love with Charlie's playing from 1978 onward. Yes, great stuff. For whatever reason, I've noticed this for decades, they give more substantive and insightful answers to interviewers who don't speak English as their native language. The interviewers tend to talk less and ask simpler, sometimes even blunt, questions that elicit more interesting responses.

Here's a question for the collective: I've been playing along with "Slide on This." On a handful of the tracks (Must Be Love, Knock Your Teeth Out, Fear for Your Future, Thinkin'), Ronnie is tuned down a half-step. Had he done on this on prior solo albums? I don't think it was to accommodate Bernard on vocals, as he did just fine singing in "guitar keys"

Even if we credit Keith with two-thirds of the songs (chords and vocal melody) in the early days, lyrics are not incidental. Mick wrote most of them with very few exceptions. He was hardly just a passenger, and his role increased to full partner by 1967-68.

I can't remember the source, but I remember reading that Keith made sure that Ronnie got credits on DW after seeing Mick take sole credit for songs on She's the Boss. Keith considers songwriting as a kind of mutual ideal -- a partnership by its very nature. To consider oneself a "singer-songwriter" on an island, to him, is a bit uppity.
