In March of 1970, I had planned to go see Ten Years After and Quicksilver Messenger Service at The Olympic Auditorium in L.A. I met a very hot girl that week at a park. I was 19 years old at the time. Late in the week she invited me over because her parents were going to be away. It happened to be on the same night as the concert. Man, that was a tough decision. I ultimately figured that there wa

A decent list. But, Parachute Woman has never screamed “60’s” to me. I would replace Parachute Woman with The Last Time.

When I saw the ad, I was just waiting to see what he was selling. I was not expecting Jeep. But, to me, I see it as nothing more than an ad. He was paid who knows how much to sell a product, bottom line. It means little what the “message” is, Jeep is trying to sell their product. I don’t resent anybody for being paid to be a paid spokesperson for a product. What I don’t like is when is wrapped in

I’m David and I came across this site in 2002, looking for the set lists from the tour at the time, in anticipation of the November, 2002 show at the Tacoma Dome. I’ve been coming here almost daily since then. I live in Poulsbo, Washington but hail from East Los Angeles. Though most folks here have infinitely more concert experiences through the years, I am lucky to have seen them live in all 3 i

In my adult life, since I was first allowed to vote as an 18 year-old, I’ve lived through 32 years of Republican presidents and and 20 years of Democrats. I and we have survived them all, some good, some bad. But our democracy works, and our constitution is strong and intact. Presidents come and go. The ones who govern best are those who approach their presidency with humility. We now have Presid

QuoteRockman Heard River Deep Mountain High in a coastal restaurant a few days ago .... An amazing record ... It still hit with such power right thru to those final few seconds where even the music collapses and seems to fall to the floor like it is beaten by the power of it all .... CLASSIC I loved so many of the records he produced but none more than River Deep, Mountain High. Brill

I am 70, have lived in the US my entire life, and have never seen anything like it. I am disgusted, sickened, sad, and angry. Trump has succeeded in eroding the confidence we have in our institutions. It is SOLELY driven by his insatiable ego. He cares for nobody but himself. He truly is unhinged and a danger to the world. The sooner he gets his ass out of Washington, the better. The rioters are

I saw them in ‘69 on a rather strange bill. They were the headliners, preceded by a rock trio from San Francisco called Aum, preceded by an unknown duo called Seals and Crofts. Aum never went far, though they were a good band, but Seals and Crofts had some big hits in the ‘70’s. The Moody’s were just ok.

Wow, a few days ago I thought of starting this exact thread! Glad you did it. He was a big part of my musical early years. First Splish Splash. My all-time favorite is Dream Lover. Mack the Knife floored me. To me, he was the epitome of cool. As he got older, I loved his cover of Tim Hardin’s If I Were A Carpenter. He left us way too soon, but we can always enjoy his music. Thanks again for th

Quotebv QuoteStoneage Quotebv The Rolling Stones will never pull the plug on performing live or recording. They just have to wait out the pandemic. It will take a year or so, then they will be back. Why? What's the point? They have played the same setlist with 50 year old hits now for decades. Why carry on with that when you're 80? Isn't it getting a bit stale by now? Even for yo

I can still hear Ed announcing “Tonight we have Topo Gigi, Sophie Tucker, the Peter Gennaro dancers, and for you kids . . .” and mention The Beatles or The Stones or one of many legendary bands. My family would watch every Sunday evening. My dad always mocked the groups (he was a jazz aficionado).
