QuoteMingSubu Did Slash and co. cancel and Walking Papers play instead? Maybe that´s how it was. Hadn´t heard of Slash opening for ´smith, don´t know what went wrong (or right, the Walking Papers were pretty good, as far as I´m able to remember ). QuoteMingSubuIt wasn't fun that night. Hell, yeah. And the following night even more .

As drunk as I got that night, the opening act at the O2 World in Berlin was called "Walking Papers" w/ Michael McKagan on bass guitar. Can´t believe you saw Slash and Myles at the same party...? Ok, sometimes my mind plays tricks on me... Fillmore

Crüe in MUC was a nice concert, last roar of a dyin´ species. RIP. ("rest", not "return")). But back to the topic title: how much would I love to see an early line-up of G N´R (I did like Gilby a lot, saw him in with the band 1992 in Stuttgart and later in Phoenix, w/ Faith no More and Metallica supportin´)! Slash is totally cool, Axl is the frontman, Adler´s cowbell was my h

As far as I know, MAC´s studios were in the cellar of the Arabella Building, which houses the Sheraton Munich Arabellapark in Bogenhausen. Please look here: I guess, one doesn´t see too much of the old magic in there, but enjoy what you get and have fun. Munich ain´t as cool as they like to think, but it´s not too shabby either. Cheers, fillmore

I like them a lot! My 7 inch vinyl of "I Don´t Love You Anymore" is so worn out, that it makes me think my school days (when it came out) must have been quite a drama-period of time. Old school brit rock - hard to beat. Fillmore

I could imagine that the live concerts (especially in West Hollywood!) are gonna be much more interesting than the new cd is. I bought it the day it came out and to me it´s "nice" (which is "shitty"´s lil´ brother ). Would love to see them perform at a club anyway. Alice Cooper solo (as the special guest on the Mötley Crüe tour) is all i can get over here in Germany... Have

I had a lot of respect for Phil Collins as a drummer - until Live Aid w/ "the artists formerly known as Led Zeppelin". What a shock! His pop music is not of my taste. But I got my troubles with 80ies pop music in particular, so it´s not "his fault". It´s just plain boring radio lala to me, highly polished rubbish. I don´t wish him any bad - I just avoid his music that ca

QuoteDandelionPowderman Quotedgiorr QuoteFillmore I woulnd´t want no fiddler in "my" Stones show. Not even in the countryesque songs. "Faraway Eyes," Ft. Worth, 1978, with Doug Kershaw is a highlight of that show and tour. At least the last half of it, as Doug had major sound problems during the first half of the song ...and then he changed to banjo, right? No, just kid

I woulnd´t want no fiddler in "my" Stones show. Not even in the countryesque songs. Fiddles aka strings were mostly used to soup up mediocre pop songs in recents decades, weren´t they? Sheryl Crow had a fiddle on stage a couple of years ago - didn´t work for me, though I admire that lady´s music and rock performances. Back to the RS: strip ´em down (musically), don´t string em up. j

Five watts of tube power in an apartment will make your neighbors (and family) go nuts. I have two five watts Bad Cat Mini Cat amps, can´t run them at home w/out a "power soak" if they shall distort at least a bit. Can´t believe I write that, but: for living rooms (that do not belong to a ranch somewhere far out) go for a solid state amp, if you like the sound crunchy. Or keep the basi

I love ´em more than any other new band! I hated missing them at John Varvatos / CBGB in NYC only for a few days in summer of ´12, finally saw them opening up for ACDC in Germany this summer. They were superb, only their debut is still better. The songs, the sound (esp. the voice and the guitar), the attitude - gotta love ´em. I´ll be there at the iTunes store tomorrow :-) and then at my record

After the thread title says "OT", I´d like to point out that if your live album is "supposed to suck" it helps if your music sucks in general . So what about Elton John Live albums post 1990? Depeche Mode live? Kraftwerk Live? Pur Live (German top candidates for the shitlist)? Probably even Joe Cocker live albums (post 1990). Cheers, Fillmore ...and kiss them, if they

I wouldn´t wanna miss BF on stage with the RS. Him and Lisa (and Blondie) is one of my favorite background teams any band could ask for. His solo works as well - great stuff! Especially N´bag and his Friends w/ Privileges Album still rock! "Meeting" him in Vienna in front of his hotel last year gave me a slightly changed view. He seemed (at least in that situation) not quite as &q

I had planned to see him in ´67 in London, ´68 in NYC, ´69 in Woodstock. Missed every chance. I was born in ´73. G O A T - Greatest Of All Time. In my high school band we "performed" Fire and Crosstown Traffic. Couldn´t destroy these wonderful songs, not even as full blown rookies. Still love his music more than most everything else.
