QuoteSpud Weird isn't it that some unlucky folks suffer with bad ear damage and others largely don't after similar histories of exposure ? I think those who suffer ear damage immediately after a show are the "lucky" ones because they realize they need to protect their hearing. Those who don't feel the pain during/after a gig are imo more prone to permanent ear damage (

QuoteDorn can´t recall any issues on that There were usually none. VGP's main asset as a label is they always checked and corrected the speed of the tapes they laid their hands on.

Quotecrholmstrom From this review it sounds like old age has taken hold of the rhythm section. The whole tour was documented almost in real time with exc+ tapes posted at Dime and imho the playing was slow and plodding. I deleted all my torrents from this tour.

QuoteMathijs Then you had the Mobile truck behind the stage area recording the show on 16-track half-inch tape Mathijs Do you know how these 16 tracks were distributed... how many tracks were used to record drums (4 at least I'd guess). Did they get Keith's amp with one mike or more? Did they use all 16 tracks as they were recordings gigs or did they keep 2 or 3 track for later

QuoteEddieByword minor twilight zone moment. You can throw a fig roll at the artists while a crips, even thrown at full force, would elegantly dance in the air?

I think it's a great show, much better than the L.A. residency that soon follows this gig (maybe because you have fewer opportunities to party in Rockford than in L.A., so the band went to bed early on Sept.30).

VINYL RIP The attached text by the original uploader: I bought this 3LP-set when it was released, 26 or 27 years ago (it's not a not a second-hand), and only listen to it only a few times, maximun 5 times. QuoteProfessorWolf boxset! boxset! boxset! You're young, you'll live to see it released (around 2050?). Most of us here won't. (I do wonder why Mick opens the tape vault in homeopathic doses. I hope when the band is nomore that a true archivist will curate the live and studio archives properly, that is à la Grateful Dead).

QuoteSwayed1967 It’s disappointing when your favorite artist pours his heart out into a song – I mean it’s clear that Mick gave 150% for both Out Of Tears and Laugh Remember Mick's a performer, that is an actor. Back in 93 he could sing the hertbroken man while, in real life, entertaining 12 simultaneous relationships with 22yo models! The most interesting thing about OOT imo is the st

QuoteMathijs I don't think it is debated at all that MR was played as an encore -it is mentioned by various newspaper reviews of the show, and there's a dozen or so photo's of Mick whipping his belt on the stage with Keith on the SG behind him, Mathijs It seems logical the guy(s) who taped the event brought a 90min cassette to the show expecting a 1972/75-minute set. Quotewaterrats Quote1963luca0 Stray Cat Blues I'll second that The GYYO version is even worse : it's very sweet and tender... the aural equivalent of a paedophile giving candy to a little girl to lure her into getting in his house. (sorry Mick!). Re Undercover... Mick was turning 40 and he obviously pretty pissed off by the state of the world. Hence the dark lyrics of most songs

Rocky Dijon's 2018 review firmly proves... the album was weak and mostly made of B-grade material! "Baby, Break It Down" "Suck On The Jugular" "Mean Disposition" "Brand New Car" or "New Faces" are indistinguishable from true B-sides like "The Storm" or "Jump On Top..."

QuoteWinning Ugly VXII So,by '99 it was due back in and they pulled it off extremely well. Especially on the B-stage! it's an intense song that got more intense as the band was performing it on a confetti of a stage. QuoteNiklas 1969 Ya-yas version does it for me. A nice blueprint for the monster versions to come (71-73) but nothing more.

There is a bootleg version of "Too Much Blood" where Jagger ad-libs in free form... he's pretty scary. The acoustic version of "Claudine" has a "4 a.m. in a damp basement with unpleasant people" vibe. Pretty sleazy too.
