QuoteNashvilleBlues Paul McCartney played last night at The Pinnacle in Nashville. The venue holds 4500 people, so no pyrotechnics for Live and Let Die. Obviously it was a fantastic show with lots of highs. Although not one of my favorite Beatles songs, Being For the Benefit of Mr. Kite was stunning, coupled with the visuals. McCartney can still play guitar. On Let Me Roll It, he can still delive

Was anyone else at the induction ceremony? I liked the video honoring Nicky Hopkins, in which Mick and Keith appeared prominently. I really enjoyed the event as a whole, many emotional moments, and some great music, of course.

Quotegotdablouse Wow, that sounds like a first (outside of small venues using a wristband) with a venue actually enforcing a "no resale" policy ? So it seems the original buyer is either going or just wasted money...that's going to mean empty seats ! That was my thought, tbh! The wasted money part, anyway.

QuoteNashvilleBlues QuoteAquamarine QuoteNashvilleBlues I just got two tickets for Paul McCartney at the Pinnacle! Yesterday they sent me an email saying if I followed the link they sent me at 10 o’clock today, I might have a chance at some extra released tickets. I got two on the floor for $400 each after fees. Anyone else going? Apparently the Pinnacle isn't allowing ticket transfers, so

RIP Rolando. I bought his Rolling Stones in Portugal book and we exchanged a couple of very sweet messages. I'll cherish that book now.

QuoteRisingStone I used to like their early stuff, Thickfreakness and, in particular, Rubber Factory, when they were a duo. After they stepped into a “big band” (so to speak) phase, I lost interest in them. They opted for sophistication at the expense of rawness and the garage feel in my view. That's exactly how I feel about them too. I loved those early albums. The first time I saw them

The first Stones show I saw opened with (after Long John Baldry, also MC) Peter Jay and the Jaywalkers with Terry Reid on vocals. Somewhat eclipsed in retrospect by the rest of the bill, but I still have good memories.

I saw Golden Earring open for Bob Marley way back when , and I couldn't believe it when at the end of Radar Love (the closer, predictably), the drummer did a standing jump over the drum kit, no run up or anything, and stuck the landing. He must have had titanium thighs. They were terrific, anyway. (So was Marley.) P.S. ALS sucks.

QuoteNashvilleBlues About that $400 Pinnacle single, I saw and clicked on that one too. So did a friend of mine. Makes you wonder… Actually, it pretty much confirms shenanigans. The tactics these companies use are disgusting and dishonest. We’ve also all seen the false sense of scarcity for many shows (whole rows of face value tickets popping up weeks and even months after the general online

QuotePaddy Quotegrzegorz67 Very good performance by all accounts but no discernible interaction between the brothers on stage. They seem to be keeping it strictly professional. There never was much interaction between them back in the days. The odd bit of aggro maybe! My friends at the Cardiff show said they touched once during Champagne Supernova, and then during the bow. Playing it safe!

QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteAquamarine My copy arrived today. I've been putting off listening to the whole album till I could listen on vinyl, as God intended. Huracán told me to get the CD. Considering the last 10 years or so in SE LA, I will ignore God, as usual, and listen to Huracán... and listen to The Rolling Stones, Sonny Landreth, Taj Mahal and the best of the entire album: Shan

Tbh, no Miracles cover would be my favorite because you can't better Smokey Robinson IMO. And they do pretty much the same arrangements, so it's not like bands reinterpret a song.

Patti is looking great! Pretty good show tonight, but I didn't enjoy it as much as the music special Friday. (Which would have been even better if Keith had been in it.)
