I just finished reading Under Their Thumb yesterday. It was pretty good, it's a memoir, very focused on tours and shows with almost no discussion of albums and songwriting. I hadn't known Ahmet Ertegun fell at the Shine A Light filming.

QuoteBN78 My story to share: I'm in the back seat of my daughter's car riding back home from a recent family event, her mother is in front passenger and my daughter's boyfriend riding back with me. Daughter's apple Play was queued in and everyone took a round at being DJ. Context here, my daughter (early 20's), her mother, and the boyfriend all endlessly enjoy the current

Great news! I look forward to it. I wonder if this will be the Dua Lipa guest spot or if we'll still have that to look forward to in the future.

QuoteIdorh After approx 100 listens, I still can't get enough of. One week I like a certain song and it sticks in my head, a week later another. Maybe not masterpieces, but they are fresh and bright and full of energy. I've mentioned it before, in my 60 years of being a Stones fan, this is the first studio album I like all the songs on. Surely it is unimaginable that Mick's voice c

QuoteRip This QuoteHardRiffin Why didn't they push the album with a new video? Mess It Up would have been perfect or Get Close. weird that Mess It Up hasn't even been released...Mick said it was the new single in interviews and even said the date was 10/17 3 days before the album was supposed to be released...it never happened.....infectious little number this Mess It Up!. QuoteRisingStone And I saw Eras Tour the movie yesterday. Was just curious, “what all the fuss is about?” As my image of Swift had remained the way I got 13 years ago, I was quite surprised and impressed with what I saw on the screen. Much of her more recent stuff is bass-heavy, thumping electro dance (to some degree, at least) music type, crushing and forceful. The stage production is nothing sh

There are no skips on Undercover for me. I think it's a great album. I'll need to check out the demos sometime and see if they truly are better.

Quotebitusa2012 I read on here many, many, MANY pages back, where someone posted that it may be a (good) sign that Hackney Diamonds IS a great album because near on everyone here has differing favourite tracks from it. Myself, I think Sweet Sounds of Heaven to be their greatest individual track in 50 or so years. So much so, that on a list here on IORR, of your favourite 20 individual Stones t

Quotejohnnythunders Finally I have found someone who put into words what I was feeling -step forward Tim Stegall An AI version of the Stones sums it up nicely and yes it would make a great EP Yes. The album is bad because it's too good. Gotcha.

I listened to Ghost Town just yesterday by coincidence. I probably hadn't listened to it in over a year. It kind of reminds me of some tough times, so it hasn't been in my regular rotation. Anyway, I really enjoyed the song. It was a lot better than I remembered. I'm not feeling the remix, though. It's one of the few remixes I don't like.

QuoteCaptainCorella Quotebv I watched the video of the new song, as the single itself is not open in my region still, for some reason. The song is nice and beautiful, but the copy and paste graphics of the now diseased Beatles members is weired. Also, there is a great and nice guitar solo there, but no guitar player seen in the video during the solo, so it is obviously not a Beatle playing it, th

QuoteBarkerboy2 This is an interesting one for me - on the first few listens it didn't grab me, but it is now probably my favourite song on the album. I do think it could be quite a big hit if they release it as a single. It's very interesting how some of the songs grow. I wasn't initially into Get Close, but now I'm crazy about it. Mess It Up is my favorite track off the al

It does feel like a sad, mournful song - which makes Lennon's goofy dancing in the video even funnier for some reason. But I don't hate the song at all. For such a melancholy song, it's decent. I haven't heard the original demo.

I haven't listened to a ton of her music, but I had Hounds Of Love and used to listen to it a lot back in the day. I always thought it was very visual, if that makes sense. I used to imagine lots of detailed scenes to go along with the album.

Quote3ddie I love TMB, especially the remixes. I've got several remixes, all on boots: The White Master Box, Too Much Blood On The Dancefloor, and The Mixes Album. They all are not longer than 8:49. But on yt there is a 12:47 Dance Version (Remixed & Edited By Arthur Baker & The Latin Rascals) which is neither on the singles 1971 - 2006 box nor on any boot. Anybody got an idea where

Some sort of response to Abba's Voyage show was inevitable, and I agree the guess of a musical is likely. Don't get upset, people. I'm sure live musicians will be at the heart of the show, and that might be cool. At best it will succeed and expose more people to Stones music, or it will vanish after a few months.

QuoteVirgin Priest MESS IT UP – oh my, I love that track. The way, Keith connects Mick´s lines in the verses with his chords and licks: just great! The chorus makes me think of EMOTIONAL RESCUE, the song. It has a natural flow and directly hits my spine. It finishes my cerebralized perception of Stones music. And Charlie is the master of the engine room. He stokes the fire and makes th
