QuoteTaylor1 Quotepadre69 I'd like to see a Pittsburgh clip of GS, where Keith is seen playing that intro. For some reason he seems to be hidden during the opening riff. Wasn't there a speculation from the St.Louis gig that an extra guitar was heard in some song? Neither Ronnie or Keith was seen playing, but a guitar was audible.Maybe Matt Clifford on a synth? Yes, most of the music

QuoteThe Sicilian Please, stay home and watch the videos. But while you're at it, describe Charlie's swing for us. I give you credit for persistence, signore. I remember after Charlie’s death all the tributes noting how distinctive Charlie’s sound was, how it was the One Thing that made the stones different from all other bands. And all the drummers explaining why from a technical

Mick just said they can only do two ballads a show so there’s no room It would be rough without Nicky anyway I agree, one of their all time best songs Howards fave also.

Too bad this didn't happen when Howard's interviews were actually good. Look for lots of stuff about how Mick's success results from trying to please his father. That's the standard Howard interview these days (at least before i stopped listeing to him).

Quotelougio The simple answer to this Brown Sugar issue is to play 20 songs. Several shows over the last few tours have had 20 songs. It’s not that unusual. There is no "Brown Sugar" issue there is only people's speculation as to why they didn't play it. It's not a cancel culture question anyway because there was NO movement calling on them not to play it. Mick ha

Quotematxil QuoteThe Sicilian Thinking about it from that point of view, it didn't occur to me they didn't play the song to pander to the woke crowd. If that's true it's horrible. That being said, if it is true, we'll never hear "Slave" now. It's not horrible at all not wanting to offend a large group of people who have been on the receiving end of gros

QuotePhillyFAN I have read Brown Sugar was written when MJ was much younger. An ode to slavery amd beating black women and basically forcing them to get down on your knees for oral sex was never okay.MJ's first child is black woman. Great music and beat tho but the lyrics are foul.I wonder the reception if a black man sang a song about beating and forcing white women to have oral sex? Wo

QuoteNate QuoteRokyfan Nate, if you pointed out that there are very few works of art, throughout history, that do not offend someone, you would be correct. Many times that's the point. And censorship and the rising support of it is a huge modern problem, I agree. At the same time, Big Al did not call for censorship or changing lyrics, he said he didn't think it would be appropriate

After the show they are completely spent and do not "mingle" with anyone they leave immediately via limo. It's been that way forever, nothing to do with covid. Really, have you seen them play? "Mingle" and take photos after the show? No.

Quoteerad Quoteribbelchips I truly hope this isn't an attempt to make Stones songs 'woke' Because Fu*ck Woke! If not: Some words or phrases are 'Out of Time'(phun intended) nowadays of course. But to me it's just the Zeitgeist. And that has it's charm. Phones don't have rotary dials anymore for example, but we perfectly understand what Jagger means.

How many rock stars got a cover when they died? An actual rolling stone dies and gets a brush off He deserves BOTH a cover now and a special issue later

QuoteTopi Quotemickschix Many of the songs I'd love to hear are 4 chord wonders from the 60's...not hard to master...like " Connection" or " She Smiled Sweetly"..or even " 2000 Light Years From Home " which they opened with YEARS AGO! ( maybe not as easy as some others) My question is why rehearse so many songs and end up with basically the same 17 tunes

Re the Boston Globe’s investigative journalism: 1. If the stones are in Boston they are rehearsing, not eating chowder or visiting bunker hill 2. They will not rehearse at a stadium for weeks they never do that 3. Who is old friends with anyone in the Eagles??

QuoteMore Hot Rocks QuoteWitness Especially at this time I don't find it warranted, but instead tasteless for me as a casual Rolling Stones fan either to advise or prophesize. I'd rather not do that later even, as I consider their choice the prerogative of the band's core members. Ought we not as fans have some respect towards them that way? I feel the same way. People please j

Charlie Watts was a man who lived his life the way he wanted, never seems to have hurt a fly and did nothing but bring joy and happiness to millions of people. We celebrate a life like this. We don’t mourn for Charlie we mourn for ourselves who go on in a world a little darker, with this reminder that we’re all just a blink of an eye.

QuoteCindyC Let people say what they want to say... everyone is different. It is too early for me to think about what this means for the band/shows. I just am thinking of the loss, and it is profound. How quaint. The idea that everyone is entitled to their opinion without being called a f**** as**+++. What a pre internet idea of communication
