Nice to see them do songs that are not on autopilot. A trainwreck (or two or...) is just the charm of livemusic. Like at the Oslorehearsals, the best thing was to hear them start songs over again and hear them work together as a band to get the songs right. Nice to hear this one, although it could have been a better version....

QuoteGasLightStreet The studio version is excellent but I do prefer the way they played it on the 1969 tour more, perhaps because it's a bit more funky and Mick doesn't do the long drawn out choruses (he would also improve on Honky Tonk Women a few years later like that). Unfortunately Jagger ruined the version on GYYYO! by overdubbing the vocals to sound more like the studio version. H

Often the original studioversion of a song tend to be the best (as with "satisfaction" imo). And I also like the studioversion of jumping Jack. But, the version from Rock and Roll Circus is one of the best imo.

QuoteRollin92 Quotegibsonman And when they were filming the opening movie for the 50 and counting shows, I was told the interviews was planned to be part of the extra material for a live DVD. I bet there will be a dvd box from everything that has happened since then, except the Hyde park shows of course.... I reckon a boxset of the 02 shows will happen but the Wyman footage will not be included

QuoteDandelionPowderman A tough task, but here's my suggestions: 1. Get Yer Ya Yas Out - Deluxe version 2. Some Girls - Deluxe version 3. Live In England '65 (the download is titled "Live 1965 - Music From Charlie Is My Darling") 4. Exile On Main Street - Deluxe version If you removed deluxe versions and kept the original releases would your list be the same or does th

Quotegrzegorz67 DP told me they've lived in California for the last 5 years. Tax reasons perhaps ? Although California has high taxes by US standards. I do remember DP talking to some people prior to entry in Oslo as very strangely GA & GC queued together! DP and I are in the last shot on this page and pehaps you are too ? I met you in that queue but I was in the other GC line.

Quotegrzegorz67 Hi gibsonman, I think you were standing with DP right behind me in Oslo! As a Norwegian Band they'd perhaps be braver and try out their new stuff in front of their home crowd whereas they are foreigners in Sweden and would perhaps play safe and stick to the familiar ? Hi! No, in Oslo I was in GC, first row but I think we met outside before the show together with DP

Quotegrzegorz67 I don't think they did DP. They mixed up the order a bit though. They began with that 'Prettiest Girl in Oslo' song that I remember from the Telenor I might be wtong but they started their Oslo set with a different song. The local blonde Swedish singer was good too I thought. Gregor. You are right, they started with another song in Oslo. I think one of thei

QuoteDEmerson Anyone else who went to the show have any thoughts on Amanda jenssen? I thought she was pretty good. I guess she had won SweDEn Idol awhile back? Pretty good looking - and a nice punky vibe. The 2nd opener was ok too - forget their name, kind of a Tom Petty meets Foghat. As much as I don't like opening acts - especially while down in the pit, I enjoyed them both. The 2nd o

Had seating tickets for this show. It made the whole experience more relaxed for me and made me see the band from a different perspective than before (although I prefer standing tickets) Great show, good setlist (imo - from what we can expect after what they have done the last two years) and seeing the band for the second time at this tour made me wonder why they should stop now. Quotewinos I've tried to listen to John Mayer but I think he is the most overrated musician (apart from Coldplay) going around. If the Stones needed another special guest Mick T would've run rings around Mayer! If you haven't seen it I suggest you check out John Mayers live DVD "where the light is". But of course, we all have different taste in music. But to say Mayer i

Another one I like with my AC15 is my Tim. Had to check it out on youtube. Seems nice... My problem right now is: on my pedalboard I have 3(!) overdrive pedals and 1 distortion pedal. That plus

I can relate to the latter, to some extent. To sum it up (based
