QuoteDandelionPowderman Quotechevysales We had a a TOA and TOTA. TOA was either 69 or 72… I’m aware of the nicks given to 72 STP etc. As far as I know, all their tours were called «The Rolling Stones American tour», except for «Tour Of The Americas» (75) and «US tour» (78) before the Steel Wheel Tour in 1989. Where did you get «TOA» from? I think Steel Wheels Tour was "North American

Quote24FPS QuoteHairball In that same interview from over a decade ago where he gave the Stones such high praise as "the greatest" , he also said the Stones are "pretty much finished". He continues with “I’m not saying they don’t keep going, but they need Bill. Without him they’re a funk band. They’ll be the real Rolling Stones when they get Bill back.” > BOB-Stones

For years and years, "Back to Zero" and 'Dirty Work' as a whole were my least favorite moments in the band's recorded history. As time has gone by, 'Voodoo Lounge' is now my least favorite album but "Back to Zero" remains my least favorite track.

QuoteDandelionPowderman The Salt Lake City-show (audio) was a nice surprise, though, and imo superior to the edited and overdubbed (by guitar techs!) Austin. Ah yes, I had forgotten about Salt Lake City. Yeah, from what I've read that is a decent show. Perhaps better as a mix than it is as a show, but an improvement over Austin it seems...as you said. I can't remember the last tim

Going way back to that media release from some years ago, it seems St. Louis 1997 is still in the queue. And I can't recall, maybe there was a mention of At The Max 1990 getting re-issued? Though I suppose that's not a true vault item, just a re-issue....and of course St. Louis has partial release on DVD. Apologies if this has already come up in recent pages.

I liked it a lot more at the time of its release than I do now. It hasn't aged well in my opinion. As another poster wrote, it was a great time to be a fan and it was a time of great touring...'97-'99', but I rarely ever listen to Babylon anymore. Or Voodoo for that matter. If anything from that era I listen to Stripped and even that is pretty rarely. Generally I skip from Ste

QuoteRockman Yeah Come On ... early garage R&B ..... ... I like the Stones' "Come On", though I love the backup singers on Chuck's original. I'd say the only Stones cover that I wouldn't be proud of (if I were Mick or Keith) is "My Girl". Otherwise I like what they've done with the covers they've done over the years.

Lots of great closers come to mind (Moonlight Mile, Slipping Away, Fingerprint File) but You Can't Always Get What You Want wins for me. Least favorite is Soul Survivor. I've always thought that Shine a Light and Soul Survivor should be flipped as Shine a Light seems like a natural closer.

If I can only pick 1, I have to go with Gimme Shelter. Such a great build up and a kind of "here we go, get ready" kind of opener. Though Sympathy, Brown Sugar and others accomplish that vibe as well. For least favorite, Sing This All Together.
