Quotesonomastone Quote24FPS Wyman's has had more solo records, probably toured more by now as a solo artist, has written more books (ones with better facts), and owns a successful restaurant. have you ever been to "sticky fingers"? I´ve been there, 1990 very soon after it opened. Food allright - not more. Service - normal. But there is a lot to watch and Bill has added a lot

Quoteab Quoteryanpow I think 72 is the best set that they did. The range of styles they played is impressive and it was mostly new material. +1 The 1972 tour set typically being: Brown Sugar Bitch Rocks Off Gimme Shelter Happy Tumbling Dice Love In Vain Sweet Virginia You Can't Always Get What You Want All Down the Line Midnight Rambler Bye Bye Johnny Rip This Joint J

Outside the Philadelphia stadium the Stones are playing I remember this pic from another thread . Christiano Radke provided a link to all the info about it: . Mick Jagger & Mick Jones are shown backstage at a 1982 concert by The Who in Philly in 1982, and the pic was taken by

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuotePietro I could be wrong, of course, but I think Kate Bush's "legend" only extends as far as the British Isles. I don't know anybody in America who cares for the gushiness, the silly clothes, or the pretentious videos. This is a British thing as far as I can tell. It’s like a singer from the Victorian era time-traveled to modern-day England and star

A as side information but interesting: wikipedia about Charlie & the 78 US-Tour: "The tour was the first in which Charlie Watts used the famous Gretch drum set that he continues to play with the Stones to this day, as well as his first employment of a china cymbal as a crash and dropping out his hi-hat when hitting the snare drum, two unique techniques that he continues to employ toda

What can I say: The 81/82 live version of course. This UMT proppelled me into my life. First time Stones live. 21 years young. Followed the band through Europe. When ever I heard it live, whenever I played and still play it in one of my DJ-Sets, it gives me a shot of power, selfconfidence and a "Hey world, are you ready for me?" attitude. A lifetime hymn.

Do someone of you have an idea where to get footage/pictures from the 78 US-Tour. Whenever I see one picture of this tour they look incredible good. Especially the outdoor-shows. Is there a book about this tour? Does somebody know who took pictures like these and where they were published? Please help. We in Europe missed that tour. Pitures like this can cure :-)

Heaven & Co: Once a guy from my company told me that he don´t know what music to put on when he has a girl in his apartment, which he is just dating her the first or 2nd time. They are up there, she is in a mood, so what to play? Soul like Marvin Gay & Co - very normal. Easy listening Lounge jazz/pop/electro/house - well that´s running in the fashion stores all day. I recommended t

Talked once to a band member of Mick´s solo albums: Jeff Beck. Met him in "Nell´s" in New York in 1986. That time the club was very new. And 85% of guests was black. No one really noticed him. Jeff was sitting in the sofa of the basement lounge. I sat beside him. It took a little while but then I realized: I´m sitting beside Jeff Beck. So took all my courage (because I hearded

But first of all I have to say: Heaven is one of my most important Stones-Songs. It is encouraging me whenever I need a little cup of confidence. So often when I was down it gave me the feeling things will turn out good.

I didn´t know why: But this was my warm up-song at home for Waldbühne. I played all the slow ones two days before the show - from Winter over Wild H. to Angie and so on. But "Almost..." was the one I played again and again. Funny this thread is now here two month later...

Bernard. June 29th, 2003, Barcelona. After the fantastic gig in the Olympia Stadium my friend Cordula, a very beautiful girl and me went to the Arts Hotel-Bar. There was Ronnie - for a few minutes. And there was Bernard, walking into the bar going straight to group of friends waiting for him and than he saw Cordula. His head was swinging around, looking at her, looking at us, coming over to us

Met Lisa once in Munich´s "Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten" at the bar after the Licks-gig in Munich Olympiahalle. She was sitting there alone. She saw my front of stage wristband, asking my if I liked the show. So we talked about that tour in 2003. I asked if it is exhausting city after city, venue after venue. Lisa said: "Yes sometimes, but Mick is sustaining all of us with his ener

The main formula is: We love their music. We still do after all those years. And they love that we do so. And can´t stop to enjoy this (us) by going on tour.

Well, when we it comes to terms of strange things a fan can do I have to admit this story here: In 1987 I (German guy from Hamburg) visited my ex-girlfriend. She married a guy who was doorman in the "Studio 54". And later became a famous US-TV-Star. But he told me as the big Stones-fan I was, that Mick Jagger lives not far away. That he has a townhouse between Riverside Drive and

Keith once talked to me. One sentence. September 2003 Twickenham I stood 1st row, Section A2, Keith side. The show began. And from the first second on, Keith was looking at me. Giving me a smile. Nodding in my direction. Gave me a wink. And another. Through the whole first song. I thought: Yes!! After standing FOS so many years now, since 1982, he finally is recognizing me. As the fan a

And then after they would give Ronnie the award. So ca. 600 (out of 1.200 on the audience) Stones Fans were sitting there watching that silly show. Patient. Then after a decade it was
