Well, when we it comes to terms of strange things a fan can do I have to admit this story here: In 1987 I (German guy from Hamburg) visited my ex-girlfriend. She married a guy who was doorman in the "Studio 54". And later became a famous US-TV-Star. But he told me as the big Stones-fan I was, that Mick Jagger lives not far away. That he has a townhouse between Riverside Drive and

Keith once talked to me. One sentence. September 2003 Twickenham I stood 1st row, Section A2, Keith side. The show began. And from the first second on, Keith was looking at me. Giving me a smile. Nodding in my direction. Gave me a wink. And another. Through the whole first song. I thought: Yes!! After standing FOS so many years now, since 1982, he finally is recognizing me. As the fan a

Ronnie again in 1996 in Hamburg. He was awarded for his artwork. The venue: A musical theatre. And: "The Buddy Holy Story" had it´s premiere the day. Kind of weird event. First they opened the show. And then after they would give Ronnie the award. So ca. 600 (out of 1.200 on the audience) Stones Fans were sitting there watching that silly show. Patient. Then after a decade it was

Well in Frankfurt, Festhalle, 1982 the band was in the middle of Miss You. Jagger reached the part: "I´ve been walking central park, singin' after dark...people think I´m..." I stood in the second or third row, shouting every word of the song. And this: "Crazy" I shouted a bit too early. Very, very loud. Mick looked at me and grumbled into the mike: "Right you a

Yeah you are right: Frankfurt was the only indoor of the whole Europe leg. And it was fantastic to have the energy of this band and their fans kept in one place by walls and a roof. The rest was just stadiums, but also fine - for me anyway because agewise this was the first tour I was aloud to go. Berlin this year was also fantastic and is in my top 5 now. Even I was their at BTB 1998 in Se

This one is with Bill. 1990, 13. August East-Berlin Weissensee.First Gig of the Stones in the reunited Germany. I had the luck through a friend to attend backstage.AAA-Badge round my neck. Dream come true. All others of my friends were in the catering tent. Me was walking around like a child in the toy shop. Just behind the tent: Bill Wyman playing table tennis with a guy from the stage cre

Quotemicha063 I saw the show at the waldbuehne Berlin. It was my 21st Stones show since 1982. I had a seat quite near to the stage and I have to say, that it is the best venue I´ve been to since I saw the Stones. Simply fantastc. The show was absolutely high level. The Stones in top Form and enjoying themselves and the audience. Next to me some screaming very young girls... And I myself just enjo

My Mick Story Nr 2 is a bit longer: Circus Krone June 2003. Before the band came on Pierre de Beaufort was handing out a few handwritten papers to some girls and women in at the side of the stage. (In front just men :-) My wife got one of these papers. She was at the side of stage with another girl. I was in the section direct front of stage. The temperature was melting all of us. After t

And may be I make a start: My story is with Mick, to whom I talked two times: First time: 16 December 1996, when I was in London at "Harrod´s", just walking in to him in the Sport section on 6th floor. He was with darryl. Trying on some reebock stuff. I was not hesitating a second before shyness could came up and walked directly to him. Saying hello, and saying the last time I saw

What I can say. I´m happy. After 5 years of IORR-begging, guessing, hoping about a new tour they really came back live in late November 2012. And are touring since then. Yes, with big intermissions. But I felt even in those pauses the tour was still on. So since two years the are back on stage. And every gig is a little adventure, even it´s far away in the US. Thanks to these mates here (

QuoteHighwayBound QuoteBeast But weren't those US ticket prices for arenas and not stadiums? Top price was Vienna - 400 euros for diamond circle. Anyone attending this last leg most likely concluded that the "same old stuff" was not being performed in a way that justified that description or its implication. Correct -- those were arena prices. I don't think the band count m

QuoteHighwayBound Quotebabyblue Yes I hope they will do the missed places in the US/Canada next year after SA. Would be nice. They'll follow the money and that's the US. Then if they were to do a few more European shows we can hear all about how the US shows stunk and they were just warming up for Europe. What many fail to understand is that without the US there is no European tour

So this all means, that during some touring days or even weeks they see each other just on stage. For soundcheck and gig. Example Charlie: Hotelroom - Van/limo - backstage dressing room - stage - backstage dressing room - van/limo - Hotelroom. But I think I´m just too romantic. First of all, the days of all in one bus driven by Stu are oooover long time. And second: Do I drive with a

I´m not sure, but looking at the iorr-pictures gig to gig through this and recent tours I ask myself: Is each member of the band shuttled in his own single van/car to and of the gigs. Do they share sometime? Do they even all ride sometimes in one van? Like 1964? May be my well informed Stones-mates here can help me with this one.

QuotePlink QuoteEJM Quote24FPS QuoteBitchKeepsBitchin As for the setlists ~ the way The Stones are rolling these days its their choice to play whatever songs they feel comfortable with. MICK doesn't like to take risks on lesser played songs, he knows they can pull these tried and true songs off well and the crowds go wild all over the world. Everyone knows these are the some of the best song

And this is to all 19 songs drama-queens: Technical problems evidently, as explained by Clapton's spokesman: "Unfortunately last night we experienced a steadily worsening technical problem with the PA system that the band battled with throughout the show. "But by the last song of the set it became unbearable on stage and Eric was unable to complete that number. "Du

Quote24FPS Sorry, I try not to comment on these particular threads about particular concerts, because those people really seem excited about the particular concert they attended. But sometimes when I see these set in concrete setlists it does anger me. They don't listen to us. They don't care about us and what we want. And as long as they can get enough rubes to pay big bucks, they'
