QuoteNilsHolgersson Maybe the new album should be called "From the Vault" since they have been recording it for the last 20 years A potential cause for concern is that the material initially written/recorded for the new album risks sounding dated as soon as it's released. Chinese Democracy suffered from that. Its overlong gestation was almost like a timeline of the music and prod

Very cool for those who were there, something about this is a lot more interesting to me than a full-blown Stones stadium concert. Great to hear I Can Feel The Fire!

Quoteschwonek QuoteStonedRambler But since they didn't release anything during the last thirty years that could keep up with the music they did when they were young I'm amazed how much people are expecting from the album. For me it's a nice bonus if it comes out. But I don't want to kill anybody's anticipation You mean: you think so? I grew up with SW VL BTB and

QuoteStonedRambler Of course I'm looking forward to it but I'm always amazed by how much people here are yearning for it. What part about Rolling Stones fans being excited for a new album by the Rolling Stones on a forum about the Rolling Stones amazes you? What parts of that equation do you need assistance with?

QuoteDandelionPowderman Gunface is the only track I would have cut off the album. Horrible track. Great vocal performance, Mick really spits and snarls this one out, and the bridge is especially good: I taught her everything I taught her how to dream I taught her everything I'm going to teach her how to scream I taught her all she knows I taught her how to lie I taught her everyth

QuoteVoodooLounge13 I love Thief In The Night, and I also love how it flows right into How Can I Stop!!! I feel as if I'm in a Jazz club every time I hear that 1-2. Same, the atmosphere and vibe of that segue is sublime. I can't understand people saying they'd want to cull tracks off albums to "improve" them. For me, more Stones is always better. I hardly ever skip

Quotebakersfield BRIDGES TO BABYLON would be much better with fewer songs, which makes it typical of the band’s later work Remove anybody seen my baby, always suffering and too tight, and you have a pretty solid album. If only the band had taken the same approach a few years earlier, then some of the great songs that made it onto Wandering Spirit and main offender could have graced a full band

Quote24FPS Wow. I come on here and BTB is being praised. It is an oddity. The production experiments are dated. It's not a very 'Stonesy' record. It sounds like you haven't given Bridges a proper chance. Listen to Too Tight, for example, that is one of the most "Stonsey" sounding songs of their entire career. The guitars and sublime percussion during the intro, the

I love on Flip The Switch how you can clearly tell it's Keith's lyrics that Mick is singing. Amazing song. Agree that Juiced is the only skipper on there. Apart from that, absolutely incredible album.

Quotedonvis Quotematxil Quoteguyrachel Such a sad message. Sure it’s your opinion, but it is depressing. I can see why you might be a Stones fan, there’s a lot to love, but it surprises me you’re on this board, and you’re not remotely interested in hearing new music seems strange…feels like you want attention more than anything…? What I want more than anything is Keith making more solo albums.

Quoteskytrench I wouldn't mind Ozzy guesting as a backing vocalist or some of the other names thrown around. Yes, sidemen/sidewomen instead of guests. Andrew's wiki points to him being a top pop producer, maybe he can direct the Glimmers to catchy stuff ? I just couldn't imagine that tuneless idiot being allowed anywhere near a Stones album. They have far too much taste and qua

Really hope the guest contributions are minimal and unobtrusive or better still, rumours that never materialise. The only duets I want to hear on a Stones album are Mick and Keith, I have less than zero interest in McCartney, Wonder or any of the other names. I hate the idea of them cluttering up a Stones album.

Been playing B2B a lot recently, the guitars and drums on Too Tight are a standout of the entire album. The keyboards also really stood out (by Blondie Chaplin) to me as sounding great when Jagger is singing the "Don't drive me 'round the block/Let's split another bottle, now/Let's take a hit, loosen up" section. This song sounds very KR and could easily be on on

I will lap up every single note, chord, riff and line of this new album. Beyond excited for it, it's been way too long. I LOVE latter-day Stones and consider albums like Babylon, Bang and Voodoo amongst their very best. If this is to be their final recorded output I expect it will be an album to treasure.

Quote24FPS It's still miles ahead of Undercover, which has UCOTN, and that's it. Objection! I was on a long train journey recently and played Undercover to death, it kept me entertained for the entire journey. Not a single bad song and a massively underrated album. QuoteVoodooLounge13 My favorite has always been 1234, a very highly underrated album IMHO. I do also really enjoy Slide On This - studio and live versions. Those are probably my 3 favorite Ronnie albums, but I think 1234 is head and shoulders above the rest. It's a very good album but the production makes it a hard listen. Agree that a remastered box set of Ronnie's work would b
