QuoteMathijs These outtakes are from a batch of cassette tapes that where sold on Ebay some 5 years ago. They do go around in tape trading circles. It has some great outtakes like ELiza, but also 16 different mixes of Too Much Blood. One tape has the Sonny Rollins overdub sessions, which was discussed here on this board. Oh, man! Tracks from Rollins's sessions would make my year!

I'll always like AC-DC's guitar sound, so I wouldn't change the radio station if "Play Ball" came on, but I can't see going out of my way to play it much at home or on the ipod. (Everything since 1985's Fly On the Wall has been pretty meh. This new one will be only their 6th studio album since then.)

Quotepmk251 The patience and restraint in each performance is very sexy and exudes confidence. Quoted for truth. They have such control. It's stunning. I'd add JJF to the list of songs that exude that controlled confidence. And you could give Jagger only a few square feet of stage and he'd still command the entire damn arena. I LOVE LOVE LOVE 1972, but he was at his best as

Quotenightskyman QuoteMathijs This is one of the ten or so takes available. It's great to listen to all takes starting with the one from Muscle Shoals and ending with the final, released take; you can hear what Jagger and Richards had in mind for this track, while trying out different parts like rhythm and solo guitars. In the end all guitars except for Richards original rhythm track are era

QuoteNaturalust Non-Stones: I have some Wilco soundboard tapes from when Jay Bennett was at his peak in 96 and 97. San Francisco shows at Great American Music Hall and the Fillmore which are just friggin' excellent. Like 70's Stones, very guitar oriented with great songs and singing by Jeff Tweedy which is heartfelt and raw. Very guitar-oriented sounds good!! What are the dates of

In my house, the Neil Diamond segment has always been known as the intermission: get up, have a piss, and get another drink before the rest of the show starts.
