QuoteJ.J.Flash Show me a band that doesn't play their biggest hits and I'll show you a half empty crowd. The Rolling Stones perhaps??? Obviously, you didn't see the crowds full on the 'No Security Tour' and people still went the next time to make full crowds. Or,this ...... * * .

QuoteGasLightStreet If they were to truly go by 'what did we play last time we were here to not play this time' then NO ONE would get any warhorses. Which is impossible, of course, so when Mick talks about that obviously he's talking about the 1-4 non-warhorse songs they have in the set for whatever tour and it's just his marketing about nothing, because as we've seen

Quoteerbissell Quotebv I am following up some comments in the Philadelphia 2019 live show thread regarding the set lists... In the "old days" i.e. until 2007, The Rolling Stones used to rehearse for a couple of months, lately in Toronto in the summer. Then they made a new/changed set list based on what they liked on every tour, and they toured that set list for 100 or more shows, typ

QuoteJordyLicks96 Well, because I'll be at this show, I voted for "She's A Rainbow." Nobody is going to vote for Emotional Rescue bc nobody really wants to hear it. Respectable could come in second and Just My Imagination in third. "Emotional Rescue" is / was the biggest hit out of the four,if I am not mistaken. 1) Emotional Rescue 2) Rainbow 3) Imaginat

Quotebv I don't understand those who complain about set lists without going to the show. It is like complaining about a beer - how it looks like - without tasking it. I guess it is the dream of another band. The Rolling Stones have been masters of repeating the same set list for every show, all the tours they have done, in the past the very same songs every night, like in the 70's a

Quotedeardoctor QuoteDandelionPowderman Quotenoughties Whatever happened to It won`t Take Long? Played twice, then forgotten... It won´t take long to forget (this tune) .. and that was best, they could do with this bad track That track is one of their best. The studio version anyway. Better than AT LEAST 3 of the songs that they performed in the final set list the other night.

They have all been performed in Houston already in the post-Wyman era ('94,'03,and '94) except for "When the Whip Comes Down" ..... which last appeared in Houston back in 1981.

QuoteMonsoon Ragoon QuoteStoneage I would say Tumbling Dice is the most boring warhorse by now. Which is a pity because it used to be great. Overplayed I guess. Secondly HTW which I can't listen to anymore. Slipping Away is almost a farce by now. Ronnie struggles to keep a straight face during it. The b-stage slows the show down mostly. I guess semi-acoustic songs don't work in stadiums

As far as performing 'Hot Rocks' ........... There has only been "Heart of Stone" a handful of times (all in 2002) since the 1960's. "Time is On My Side" once in Japan since the 1982 tour ended. "Play With Fire" is finally being performed but,it's now up to just FOUR times in the past 29+ years.

QuoteJTHanis Based on last night, i’m guessing no Sweet Virginia for Philadelphia on Tuesday. Interesting to note, the city hasn’t heard the song in 47 years. I sincerely hope, but doubt, they look at previous setlists in the city. I’m willing to wager we hear Angie Nd Dead Flowers even though the latter was played there in 2013 and made it onto Honk. I’ll cross my fingers for the two MetLife

"It's Only Rock 'n' Roll (But I Like It)" was great as a closer at Fenway Park in 2005. People tend to overlook that. Not bad on the 2002 tour either. 2014 '14 on Fire Tour' IORR was probably the best in general since Richards fell out of the tree in 2006. The one from Sunday at Gillette Stadium was probably the worst I have heard it out of roughl

QuoteHMS None. I´d love to see them drop the acoustic set. It was boring in 1994/95 and is still boring today. They should rotate four ballads, one per night - that´s enough. I prefer them to rock. Please no more boring Let It Bleed/Dead Flowers/Angies. That's a horrible idea. The acoustic set has been the highlight of the tour. "Dead Flowers" has been in there a little bi

QuoteJavadave I've been to Foxboro. Saw the Grateful Dead with Los Lobos opening for them there in 1989. My question was where is Foxborough? Leicestershire? Foxborough is the real name of the town. As you could tell by the official town government web-site in the link. Shortened to Foxboro by some, including the post office.

Quotestonesstein Setlist musing: IORR - R.I.P. (*oh well*) They are just giving the song a much needed break. Performed "IORR" at the 2nd show but not at the 1st or 3rd. Much the same as they did for stretches in 1998. Rotating with "LSTNT" just as they did in '98. I just would have preferred another different song to rotate in their in its place.
