I like the 3-tier approach to evaluating our favorite Stones studio albums (US studio albums for me). Here's my 3 tiers (tier 1 is in order but 2 and 3 not necessarily in order - HD makes the back end of tier 1 for me tied with OOOH): Tier 1 - EOMS/ SF/ LIB/ Aftermath/ BB/ TY/ GHS/ SG/ HD and OOOH Tier 2 - (not in order) RS NOW/ DC / TSMR/ IORR/ Black and Blue/ ER/ Undercover/ VL/ Blue

QuoteBig Al A quote from a Los Angels Times interview from 2022: Damon Albarn: ‘ Not to say that I didn’t absolutely love the Rolling Stones in their heyday — they were magnificent. But do other stuff in your life. Singing (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction when you’re pushing 80? Come on.' So,look, he does appreciate the Stones’ greatness. I’m sure he’s a fan and admirer of the music produ

Instead of showing which albums rank lower for me, thought I'd just list where it currently sits in my favorite Stones studio albums rankings (of the 26 US albums not counting deluxe versions of the albums only the original versions). Here goes (my top 12 of the 26: 1. EXile 2. Sticky Fingers 3. Let It Bleed 4. Aftermath 5. Beggars Banquet 6. Tattoo You 7. Goats Head Soup 8. HACKNE

My wife and I took our 5 young boys - ages 5,7,9,11,13 - to see the Stones in Orlando last summer. The best decision we ever made! It was the highlight of our/their trip to Orlando (which included visits to the Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Sea World)! Our 5 year old was impacted (positively) the most believe it or not. He has been on a non-stop Stones mission since then: looking through my various St

Totally agree on how dry the Stones studio ouput has been over the last 20-25 years or so. But in their early/mid years, they like the Beatles were prolific in terms of quantity and quality of output: 1964-69: 10 Studio Albums (in the U.S.) 1964-74: 14 Studio Albums 1964-1983: 19 Studio Albums But in Last 40 years: Only 6 Studio Albums (although there have been many other solo related stud

Sticking with my former outline: Maybe two more years to/ through 2024 (if all 3 main members stay healthy) for a continuation of the 60+ years celebration. This summer in Eurpose was celebrating 60 years from July 12, 1962 1st public 'concert.' Next year would be 60 years from when Charlie joined the band in Jan. 1963 and also their first singles released later in 1963. And 2024 would

I thought we were just having fun speculating about the future (while waiting for the European tour to start) not making any demands of The Stones. That's what I was doing any way ... just having some fun speculating. The ball as always is in the Stones court to do whatever they want or don't want to do going forward. This will of course include major considerations around their health.

Thanks! I thought about including Brian Jones' Pipes of Pan... but ended up leaving it out as I thought he was mainly the producer of the album versus being a musician on it. This is just an informal list though with no rules. So, I almost feel like we should consider adding it to the list the more I think about it now, in honor of Brian and all the incredible contributions he made to the St

With all the understandable negative comments concerning the Stones very limited studio output as a band over the last 2+ decades, I thought I would do a quick search to see how their overall studio (US) output looked over the first 60 years of the band's history, when you included all current and former band members 'solo' projects. I found that it looks like there are approx. a t

I thought I remember Mick in an interview awhile back state that each tour now was set up as a virtual corporation and when each tour wrapped up, the virtual corp. for that tour also basically ended too. So, maybe the closing out of this segment of the No Filter tour/ virtual corp. does not necessarily mean it is over.... I am just a major fan and one who is definitely NOT in the know on these th

A very very sad day in Stonesworld. RIP Charlie. You were the perfect drummer for the greatest rock n roll band ever and the perfect low key personality to play the buffer between two of the all time iconic rock personalities ever, Mick and Keith. My thoughts, prayers and condolences for Charlie's family, friends, The Stones and their fans throughout the world.
