QuoteMathijs We are living in the greatest era of guitar making, is my humble opinion. These days you can buy a $250 Chinese or Korean Strat and literally take it on a big stadium tour. It will play and sound fantastic. And when you go the high(er) end, the current Custom Shop Fender and Gibson guitars rival any vintage instrument. And with the Masterbuilt Series and the Murphy-aged instruments

RIP indeed - a really great bassist who brought so much to every musical situation he was in. Very sad news and my heart goes out to his young kids who are now without both parents.

QuoteCaptainCorella QuoteEddieByword I saw this in the IMAX theatre in Bradford - England in 1992 during a break in radiotherapy - it was a much needed boost at the time - put a spring back in my step. I too went to the Bradford screening. (At the time it was the only IMAX screen in the UK.) Although Melbourne is blessed with the largest IMAX screen in the southern hemisphere and the seco

QuoteMathijs QuoteKeVvV2011 QuoteCristiano Radtke Shame, dhame, shame is already up on Youtube: What is up with that hi hat (or a shaker?)? Sounds like they have 2 tracks running simultaneously, one out of sync. It sounds totally horrible, this can't be right. The guitars and drums sound out of synch completely, so much so that it starts to shift phases! Mathijs That's a new/ re

QuoteBig Al The documentary looks really interesting. I almost wish someone would finance a documentary on Jimmy Page's 1963-1966 career as a session musician, which would be equally as fascinating. The recently released documentary 'Becoming Led Zeppelin' covers this period quite nicely (if not comprehensively) - and John Paul Jones was of course a major session presence duri

Surely the most unordinary thing about Keith is his constitution! Sure, he didn't necessarily abuse his body as much as the myths would have us believe but still...aside from that he's an ordinary person who's been living in extraordinary circumstances since his late teens.

I was there and thought it was great. Jody's drum sound was fantastic - one of the best live drum sounds I've heard (but too loud in the mix, as several audience members were eager to point out). I did think Chris Stamey was straining a bit with several of his vocal turns - admirable they attempted the original keys given how high the register is in many of those songs. They were

I saw it last night and thought it was very well and tastefully put together, It could have been a lot more 'sensationalist' (presumably there was a lot of the nittier grittier details that where left out on purpose) - although enough was left in/ implied to give a pretty full picture, The footage, much of which I believe is previously unseen is fascinating and strangely moving (the

Horrible. Sounds like it’s from some 2nd rate Netflix high school / teen drama. Sorry for negativity- there’s some great stuff on the album imo - but this is just puerile.

For those that have it on BBC iPlayer - Does anyone know the artist/ name of the song playing at 28:10 just after the live clip of Pain in my heart? Thanks I thought the documentary was a bit patchy and all over the place - expected more from Nick Broomfield. But still found it very moving and sad.

QuoteCaptain Teague QuoteRoll73 How can it be that 3 seconds after the tickets go on sale that Ticketmaster are saying no more tickets available?! It is probably because they transfer 1000's of tickets onto their own resale site. They are legalised ticket touts after all and it is time they were investigated. I got my tickets for the O2 through AXS.com and even this was a bit of a bal

QuoteSpud It's a better album than most give it credit for...but it's let down by the clumsy "brick wall" mastering . It's the one and only Stones album that I literally never put on. Not helped by the mastering for sure but (imo of course) the songs are just not up to par. I liked Rough Justice when it was released but I can happily live without it now. Really hope
