There's a YouTube channel where an italian guy demostrate all the harmonizing vocals of many songs of the beatles. Amazing work. I haven't found nothing similar about the stones.

There's a Youtube Channel where an Italian guy makes an amazing work on Beatles harmony singing. I have been unable to find anything similar about classical Stone songs. It would be great to find the backing singing of Wild horses or Loving cup chorus and so on

Did this period started at el Mocambo? or in the 78' tour? Why did keith (& ronnie?) started to use those amps? Mesa boogie amps where also used by guitar players like Santana, far from the stones sound, and it seems that the same amp would't fit both styles (santana vs stones) so opposite indeed. I am aware that the Mark I has been widely reported in this board, and as far as I now

That tone (fat & metallic?)!. Is that the famous humbucker position sound from Keith's tele? Also many other songs from that show keep that disntinctive tone, but those two comes to mind. Any opinion?

While listening to hampton '81, I noticed keith plays note per note the same small solo in When the whip comes down (0:17-0:20) and Hang fire (0:42-0:48), incredible solo indeed! have you heard it in any other song?

I'm not an expert, just another frustrated musician who plays (daily) his Tele at home. Recently got my brand new fulldrive 2 mosfet, and along with my Fender Champ I achieve the kind of sound that i was looking for. To my ears, it sounds close to the overdrive that fits many Stone/Black Crowes/etc songs. The pedal adds some versatility to the Fender Champ that is so basic, but i love anyway

While searching old topics I read a very interesting finding (to me). Mathijs, you stated in a old topic about the Torn and Frayed solo in Exile that: “...Keith has (actually: had) this strange way of holding a pick with stretched fingers, pinting towards the enck instead of to the strings. This makes his right technique not fluid, but sloppr, with hooks and angles, like he strugles to stop h

Fortunately IMO not many young people keep supporting bullfighting in my country these days. Please leave these forum free from this topic, we, spaniards have to deal every single day with media talkin' about Las Ventas, matadores, toros or corridas.

Thanks Mathijs for sharing your deep knowledge about guitars with us. So, Vox Pathfinder + overdrive pedal, great. But then again, "tranny amp"...what does it mean?. Just looked for "tranny" on the web and it didn't match with this subject, i guess... Sorry for my english

The best. When you pick a guitar and try to play those licks, turnabouts, chords, with those weird tunings (don’t even think of singing at the same time), then is when you wonder: Who’s playing the second guitar? Not human.

Thanks. In fact, keith almost gave up Les paul (but Midnight rambler or Berry covers live) from that point. I wonder if it has to do with the muddy, dark sound of that model, or on the contrary is due to its weight, neck shape, etc.

If i’m not wrong some guitar-expert posted here that nearly all the songs recorded in open tuning during 1968-69 are not telecasters, but Gibson LP or Dan Armstrong. Does anybody know why did keith change from Gibson LP to Telecaster’s to play open tuning songs live in 1972? Is it related to weight, playability...etc or it is just a sound matter?

I am complete ignorant abut drums. So, is there anyone who can explain the way Charlie starts at songs like: Start me up and Criss cross man (Any other?). I don't hear often any other drummers do that, maybe it has to do with swing and jazz techniques? Thanks in advance Anagyrus

Which reggae artists does keith like the best? As far as I know (some because of colaborations) Toots, Max Romeo, Sly&Robbie, Marley, Peter Tosh...But in a old Spanish rock magazine I read that in 1982 he was deeply interested in Third Wolrd, Black Uhuru. Right now, do you know if is he interested in current reggae (more related with dance-hall like Sizzla, Luciano, Capleton...)? Than

Mississippi fred Mcdowell - I do not play no r’n’r Have you heard this? It’s recorded in 1969, and to my very personal ears it sounds very close to all the stuff of the stones circa late 60’s. I’d love to know the opininion of all the guitar experts in this board. The guitar tone, that chopping rhythm...to me THAT’s the sound. Many of the songs from this album (“61 Highway”, “Good morning lit
