I use Audacity. Do a "FILE", "import audio" and then "File", "export audio". It will automatically strip the video upon import. I use a Mac, assume it works the same on Windows.

Keyboard has been doing the main driving guitar riff in Whole Wide World. Watch the fingers, then listen to the pregnant pause at 1:29. Chuck (or Matt) didn't do the riff, but a guitar can clearly be heard playing the wrong chord(s). Other than that, I have no problem with keys lifting some of the weight.
