QuoteValeswood Quotefranzk I saw him playing with The Rolling Stones. It was a good show! What tour was that, franzk? I saw him at The Jazz Club in Camden 1998, which was one of the best shows I have seen. RIP Steve I saw him in Warsaw 2007 on the ABB tour. He played also with the Stones a few days later in St. Petersburg.

Before STP, private planes and five star hotels, The Rolling Stones had to tour US using others forms of transportations. I'm especially interested how did they tour during their first and second US tour in 1964. The first tour was between 5-20 June and they played in California, Texas, Minnesota, Nebraska, Michigan, Pensylvania and New York. Did they travel to shows by plane, by train or by

QuoteNashvilleBlues Listening to The Smashing Pumpkins’ Pisces Iscariot today made me think. What are the best (non-Stones) b-sides albums? When it comes to Smashing Pumpkins I recommend "The Aeroplane Flies High" - collection of B sides all from "Mellon Collie". Terrific set showing that "Mellon Collie" could've been easily a 3CD album and still awesome!

QuotePalace Revolution 2000 Quotefranzk QuotePalace Revolution 2000 Angry - IMO it is obvious, Start Me Up. I tried so hard but haven't found any similarity to Start Me Up. Both songs (and riffs) are completely different. Yes they are different. SMU is a Keith riff, with subtleties, and spacing. Angry is a pure Jagger riff, very straight and direct., Perfect for the IPhone world. But I t

My guess is they are going to announce 3-4 shows in London and/or NYC in Novemver and December. Like they did in 2012.

Back then Stones were not a warhorse band. They were pushing their new material. I think Mick said something like he would be embarassed to sing Satisfaction in his thirties. Maybe he was afraid of becoming "nostalgia act". Of course times change...

QuoteRisingStone Quotefranzk How about 7 shows in America and 7 in Europe to make everybody happy? Not “everybody” lives in America or Europe… Don't get angry with me. I was just trying to find a convinient solution to US/EU tour debate in this thread.

QuoteCJFP Quotekovach Quotepetewasbristol Did anyone catch Ronnie letting slip that they had made two albums? Maybe it was a joke that flew over my head! I was guessing he was referring to Blue & Lonesome but who knows... Thought I heard 23 tracks... but I could be wrong Mick said they recorded 23 tracks between December 22 and February 23. Sounds amazing if true. Maybe we will get anot

Quotesarahunwin Very disappointed in the video. I absolutely don’t understand why they feel they had to show themselves so young and couldn’t be in the present moment I think it would’ve been so much better if they had allowed their old selves to perform. What does everybody else think? The video kind of remind me "Don't Stop".

Quotesnoopy2 Few things I heard: Stevie Wonder plays on a track (Ronnie) Lady Gaga does a bit (Ronnie) May be more than twelve tracks (Mick says 12, and then, that’s not really true.. And as Fallon reads off the tracks he names “Rolling Stones Blues” but quickly drops it) If there is a Rolling Stones Blues that intrigues me the most Possibly a "hidden" bonus track?

Quotetiffanyblu Quotetiffanyblu QuoteRockman new era is very exciting. that for me could be anything. something they just say as a result of new music, new touring concept. no touring at all or something we have not yet cracked. Keith will say that it's not the end, it's the beginning of the second half.

Before we get the new album I decided to refresh A Bigger Bang which I haven't listened for a while. My impression is that it aged suprisingly well. Great energy, a lot of great songs (wish they had played Let Me Down Slow and Biggest Mistake live), a lot of great vibe altough the production is pretty "dry" and instrumentation quite basic. The only thing is that to me A Bigger B

QuoteTomGreen As mentioned, he often sings from a character's perspective, but New Faces always struck me as a very vulnerable song. It's about losing someone to another guy, but I think it's the only song where ageing is referenced - the guys is "the figure of youth". Very different song for the Stones from any perspective. I've always wondered who is it about. Is

QuoteBjorn Wild Horses? If it's really about Marianne's overdose and breakup as Faithfull claims, then it's quite personal. But over the years Mick seemed to distance himself a bit from it: Quote(I)t was (Keith's) melody. And he wrote the phrase wild horses, but I wrote the rest of it. I like the song. It's an example of a pop song. Taking this cliché wild horses, whic

Mick is great at writing lyrics from certain perspective. His songs are either universal love songs, or social commentaries, but usually with some distance. Sometimes he impersonates certain character (Midnight Rambler, Sympathy For The Devil) or uses vague metaphores to address some things from his life. But he rarely writes direct, personal lyrics. I was thinking what his most personal lyrics a

Quotegotdablouse Quotecyclist This title makes me hopeful. It's far more evocative than Honk or Grrr or A Bigger Bang or Gotta Get a Grip or even Living in a Ghost Town. Agreed, let's hope the first single is not called "Don't get angry, fix it!" Or "Specialists in Glass Repair".
