The clip with the Mills Brothers is very nice. Any idea of what brand/model of guitar being played in the clip is? It's a great looking guitar. Regarding Dean, if you haven't seen it, check out "Dean Martin: King Of Cool", a documentary put together by his daughter. It shows a whole different side of Martin along with a good retrospective of his career.

Wow! I got tix for Marty Stuart and his band in Scottsdale, AZ, on April 28th, but this is one I may have to consider also. What a lineup so far. The Stones should join in.

Posted here already, I don't know, but here's an NPR Tiny Desk Concert with David and the Lighthouse Band. A nice goodbye look at a man/musician who finally came into his own, IMHO.

A flawed human being (like a number of us) but a wonderful artist/musician. RIP, David. Your music will be with many of us until our time.

Didn't wade through all the responses here, but, regarding ticket prices, interestingly I came across something regarding the Stones and concert prices back in the day. I, as I occasionally do, looked up a few things regarding my hometown. Came onto this article from Baltimore Magazine regarding the renovation of the old Baltimore Civic Center. I saw many a concert there from the Beatles in

RIP, Lollo. I always found you more appealing than Sophia. There was a certain something to you that was.... Liked your work in photography. You were quite the artist.

A player's player. His first two albums sit in my vinyl collection. Oddly, my memory just now brings up something regarding him and making albums/touring from some years ago - he said he did these things so he could make money to work on his cars, particularly Jaguars as he was a car enthusiast and liked them. Pardon me if my memory is wrong. RIP Mr. Beck.

Interesting article. Makes you realize how fast food, car culture and rock'n'roll sort of grew up together. Chuck understood. I know fast food chains offer different things in various countries to appeal to local tastes. What do they offer where you are that's locally oriented? See y'all down at Arnold's Drive-In.

Nice clip of Donovan from 1965.Here he is with Buffy Sainte-Marie and Roger Cook from a concert series of songwriters presented by the BBC a few years back. Well worth it exploring the whole series.

What a wild real rock'n'roll cut Reid does with Bang Bang, the utoob clip here. Raw and righteous. His River album is very good, IMHO, and worth seeking out, along with his other works. Y'all might have to cherry pick through them, but y'all should be well rewarded.

Interesting. I have to wonder about a KR copy or any good Telecaster that sells for under $300. Would love to see a review where KR checks this guitar out and gives his opinion.

Came across this. No idea if it's been here before. It rocks. Made me think about how the Stones (and other bands) could re-imagine their songs. Enjoy.

Nice read. Brought back memories of reading some of these standing at the local drugstore magazine rack before they told me they weren't the library and that if I wanted to read a magazine I should buy it. I am sure a number of people here will have their memories also triggered. Enjoy.

For those of us here at IORR who celebrate it, Happy Turkey Day. May your giblet gravy be good, ladled all over your stuffing and mashed potatoes. May your greenbean casserole be comfy food as ever. And don't forget to watch, whichever way you can, the Thanksgiving episode of WKRP (or the clip from it on utoob). You can also watch the first Rocky movie which has a Thanksgiving bit in it. I&#

Hmmm...first, y'all gotta wonder what new album despite promises made. I'll believe a new album when I sees it and hears it. Two, on tour, do the new album cuts interspersed with some deep/older Stones cuts. KR did this on his first solo venture tour playing much off his album and some Stones songs and it was great. I look at Dylan these days as an inspiration regarding in how he approa

Regarding "You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go" brought to mind a great cover of the song by Miley Cyrus. This woman knows how to do country. Check out her "The Backyard Sessions" on utoob. Here's her cover of "You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome".

Hmmm...sounds interesting. Myself, I still dig this album regarding covering the Stones - All Blues'd Up: Songs Of The Rolling Stones. Would love to hear the Stones do Satisfaction as Junior Wells does it - what a jam it could be in concert.

Bringing It All Back Home is the album that turned me onto Dylan. I knew of his earlier albums but they did nada for me when people played them. The late Rick Nelson said when he heard BIABH it turned him completely around in terms of the music he wanted to play. Nelson and The Stone Canyon Band did some very good covers of Dylan songs. The last three songs on BIABH are pure poetry to my ears. It

A nice read on the groups. The Tops are my fave Motown group. The came across to me as so much more soulful than the Temps. The Tops version of When She Was My Girl cuts the O'Jays version, IMHO, but I love both. Must confess, though, that the Stax/Volt Memphis sound and southern soul in general is more my thing. Makes me wonder what a hookup between the Tops and Booker T and the MG's w

Interesting list, but it beggars the question - just how many of the songs on these albums were hits? Nice to note someone else mentioned Elvis. I still have him in my mind wearing that gold suit on a hits collection.

Seeing this put me in mind of another collaboration - John Lee Hooker and Miles Davis on the soundtrack for the movie, "The Hot Spot". A cool listen. Re Hendrix, one can only wonder where his muse would have taken him had he lived.

Reading the comments I thought of an album produced by Lanois that could be used for a template regarding him working with the Stones - "Yellow Moon" by the Neville Brothers. This album is so good, grooves like crazy and still sounds fantastic. I'll tell y'all, if you haven't heard it, check it out. Some cuts on Dylan's "Oh Mercy" album could also be used a

Sounds interesting. I have encouraged any number of people to drive across the United States/America to get a feel for the country and its people. I've done it twice. It's a big country filled with much new, but for me, much older. Rather than the interstates I looked for the old highways that took me through places mostly forgotten yet fascinating in how people still there made their l

"Those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end...." I'm still trying to lock my mind around the statement in the article that The Doors and The Who were "subversive counterculture acts". Provocative, yes, but subversive...nahh.
