QuoteMathijs QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteBarkerboy2 QuoteMathijs QuoteBarkerboy2 How anyone can say the Voodoo Lounge tour was borderline bad seems borderline insane to me I find the Voodoo Lounge tour the worst tour they have done in their entire career. The stage, the sound (those guitars....), the clothes, the posing, the songs, the playing -there's just nothing to like for me. Mat

I always found this a difficult song to perform, and honestly it never sounded as good as on the album, compared to other songs. While I could understand the 'Street fighting man' is a bit dated nowadays (and, btw, it is a bit dangerous if you see the growing violence everywhere), I think that 'She smiled sweetly' is a great song. I also wonder how Mick Jagger is supposed t

Quoteexilestones Quotesaltoftheearth A friend recently sent me great concert photos from Munich, 10 June 1982 (first show at Munich, the sunny one). I could ask him if he'll allow to publish them on this board. But I do not know how to load them up so I would be grateful if I could send them to someone who'll load them up. Wow! It would be appreciated to have those photos posted her

I always liked Bill very much and appreciate his importance for the STones, and no offence here, the songs are fine but his singing is weak and monotonous. It's not his fault but his voice was never that strong, and now it's rather gone. For me it is no pleasure to listen to, sorry.

I feel reminded of some lyrics he once wrote: There's a regiment of soldiers Standing looking on And the queen is bravely shouting "What the hell is going on?" With a blood-curdling "tally-ho" She charged into the ranks And blessed all those grandmas Who with their dying breaths screamed, "Thanks!" Me, I'm just waiting so patiently With my wom

But why on earth didn't the Rolling Stones release a box set of soundboard recordings from the 1973 Tour of Europe last year? Obviously many shows were recorded by the Mobile. And as the Dylan set shows, obviously the release of 50 year old recordings would not hurt any ticket sales either.

In diesem Video hören wir uns das Album „Knebworth“ an, eine gemischte Konsolen- und Publikumsaufnahme der Show beim „Knewborth Fair“-Festival in Stevenage, England, am 21. August 1976. Without Charlie the Rolling Stones are not the Rolling Stones anymore. They are a competent band and earn lots of money, and if people are willing to see them and to pay for it it is o.k. But it's rather a nostalgia act, even if some songs still sound good. I think that Charlie really did look bad and a bit exhausted during the last tour so it is not very probable that he would have carr

To me, the mix sounds uneven. During Little red rooster Mick Jagger's voice is drowned out by the guitar.

QuoteMathijs The Brussels 1973 official release has only one edit: they took Taylor's solo on ADTL from the first show and edited it over the solo from the second show. The well known bootleg releases of the Brussels and Wembly gigs do not have any overdub for as far as is known -there was mention that Jagger's vocals for Honky Tonk Woman were redone in New York when they mixed and m

QUOTE: What are the odds that any of Wyman's solo stuff would have seen the light of day had he not be a Stone ? As much as I appreciate Bill as a band member I think that he has the same problem as Mick Taylor: Both of them need a great band to bring out the best in them. Their solo albums are quite mediocre. Within a band they have proved that they are world class musicians!

Quoteslewan QuoteMelBelli Quotekeefmick Fool to Cry and Rainbow I believe classify as rarely played. One’s definition is subjective, but here are a few examples I think we could all agree on. Most of these were played only once or twice. 2012 — Lady Jane, I Wanna Be Your Man 2013 — Emotional Rescue 2014 — Dancing with Mr. D 2015 — Sticky Fingers tracks like I Got the Blues and You Gotta M

I have always regretted that even after the end of a tour fans never get to learn which songs they rehearsed besides those actually performed during the tour. For me it is always exciting which songs they play & try even if it is clear from the start they they will not be played because the band doesn't think they will work. For that reason I have always appreciated tapes from rehears

They could have done some shows only with rarities (not necessarily only acoustic) in a small club or maybe even on the Montreux Jazz Festival years ago if they would have liked the idea and rehearsed properly. And surely a live album would have sold well. But obviously they never thought about it, and now it's too late. Shadows of the evening crawl across the years...

QuoteSilver Dagger Quotemarcovandereijk Was Fool to cry the first song ever that Mick played an instrument on on stage? (Not counting the harmonica and all sorts of percussions, of course). Almost certainly. I know that he played a guitar at some Danish gig rehearsal in 1970 but 99 per cent sure the string synth was his first live instrument. No, he also played guitar during the 1975 TOTA

In these few minutes everything is said about Mick Taylor. Keith makes a wise statement here, and I think that everything he says is true. I once saw Mick Taylor in concert at a small club, and he played masterfully but somehow with no direction. He needs other musicians to hold up against him to bring out the best he can do. Personally he ist a rather shy but very friendly and intelligent person

As I know Claude Nobs, he is interested in having them, but for several reason they are so so about it: - stage to small - Mick always said this is a jazz festival and they are not playing jazz... :-(! - they are still too young to play in Montreux! :-)! - imagine how crazyy will be Montreux for "THE" Day!!! just a mess in this pretty s

Tour of Europe 1973 - boxset for the 50th anniversary? Wouldn't it be great if the Rolling Stones would release a boxset with additional recordings of the lgendars 1973 Tour of Europe? At least the shows at London WEmvbley Empire, Brighton, Newcastle, and probably Essen were recorded so there's plenty of material to make a great boxset. Although the setlist are rather identical th
