Bravo Al for your post! I think some of the negative comments should be edited out by BV...particularly vicious and unwarranted. Good for RW on persevering and for his long standing association with the others.....a tremendous achievement.

QuoteBliss It seems everyone's getting into the act, weighing in with their point of view: 'I Was Keith Richards' Drug Dealer' - Tony Sanchez 'I Was Mick Jagger's Girlfriend' - Marianne Faithfull 'I Was the Rolling Stones' Office Manager' - Jo Bergman 'I Was the RS Fanzine Publisher' - Bill German 'I Was the RS'

The Stones when they play a groove/dance song are always at the top of their game...too bad they haven't used Slave live or play Dance Pt 1 more often.

QuoteMathijs The magic to Ron Wood for me is that his guitar playing sounds so simple but when you want to copy it, it turns out to be much more complicated. His playing in 1975, 1978 and 1981 is actually much more technically advanced, much faster and much more intricate than you think on first listen. And Wood has taste -he always plays the right part to a track, especially when they play soul

QuoteGlimmerest Quotekeefriffhards Sounds like an excuse to me. More likely it's a physical injury but that doesn't fill promoters with confidence so better to blame logistics. This seems like dooming to me no its typical BS from this poster with no facts, pushing a false narrative....no one knows why they didn't sign a contract to tour but the reasons I'm sure are vindi

Sad to hear of her passing. I was lucky enough to see her perform Why'd Ya Do It in NYC at the Mudd Club...I was there very late one night and it was after 2 AM and the garage door (that was the stage) just opens and there she is alone sitting on a chair several white lights on her and she belts out that incredibly angry song and the place went wild and then the steel curtain went back down.

people forget one very important element here....KR was a drug addict for the better part of 2 decades. Has anyone here ever lived with one let alone worked with one? Tough task...yet somehow Jagger not only persevered he kept the whole thing together even if there was a slight break....how many of you would have stuck around?

Quotemkbbcmr My least favourite Stones track. Just one cliché too many, both musically and lyrics-wise. (* * 1/2) totally agree. The lyrics especially are evidence of how weak and lame Jagger got with some of his recent efforts.....the Jagger of the 60's/70's would never have written these lyrics and published them.
