There is no 12” of Slave. There was an extended version released on the Virgin remaster/reissue of Tattoo You in the 90s. Not sure if that is the ‘stock’ version used for streaming services or not. Any other longer version of Slave is an outtake/bootleg.

I believe this is simply a remaster of common stuff from the early days of CD-R boot capabilities. There were a few ZIG titles. And, yes, they have very good sound.

QuoteLamorinda OK. I've now got my wish list for the Stones show at Jazz Fest: -'Time is on my Side' with Irma Thomas (who will be performing at Jazz Fest) -'I'm Waiting For The Man' with Ivan Neville (who lives in New Orleans) And Dumpstaphunk, Ivan's band, is playing that day at Fest.

QuoteIrix QuoteJMARKO Doesn’t it say there will be a limit of 100 downloads per transfer too? Where? There's no such statement by WT for the free mode (w/o account). The last item under the New Free Basic plan as listed in original post.

Doesn’t it say there will be a limit of 100 downloads per transfer too? As in you put something up on WT, it stays for 3 days and can only be downloaded 100 times.

Quotequietbeatle very cool but I get a 404 link not found message for the gigasize track. ?? The link is 16 years old, as is the story. The track can be found on any copy of the Surrey Rehearsals.

Anyone think there's a way to exclude the background noise on these? Seems like technology has progressed since this was released. Perhaps a remastering can take place?

Flagging Down The Double E has unearthed TWO previously unheard soundboard recordings from Mobile and Austin from the 1976 leg of Dylan’s Rolling Thunder Tour: Thanks to all who helped do this over there and send up the Acid signal for Captain Acid!!!

Facing the dilemma. Convinced there are minimal treasures on my cassettes. But they are are y lying/landfill nightmare Only strategy I have seen is offering them in bulk on a Craigslist type site and stipulating they are being sold as blank cassettes and not for any content on them. But the photos, of course, include the spine information, in case any one is interested. Same dilemma with

Curious if anyone out there has FLAC versions of these two Dylan 1978 tour compilations. They were assembled by the "Flagging Down the Double E" blog folks last year, but the download links seem to be broken. The comps are available on YouTube, but I'm hoping to find the FLAC tracks for better listening options. Any help appreciated.

Thanks so much for doing this, Captain! We can now be certain that this material is in its best-sounding quality! Curious, did the material not need any speed correction? I don't see you listing that specifically. Has anyone ever considered reorganizing this material chronologically by session dates? I may do that with my copies now that we have this remastered version. J

This album deserves a super deluxe treatment, but the majority of it should include many of these early versions of most of the songs. This was an experimental album in many ways and hopefully the vaults still have the embryonic and progressive versions of the material. And while these sessions were really filled with the early stages of the Mick/Keith feud, and the resulting album tends to l

QuoteTravelinMan This has been an emerging industry: taking 2nd, 3rd, or 4th generation digital copies of shows that have fallen into the public domain, printing them on vinyl, and selling them online. This LP is, indeed, a transfer from a digital copy since you can actually hear digital skips/errors on the recording. Not taken from a tape source.

"This was Mick Taylor's first complete Stones album" Except of course for that album called Sticky Fingers that preceded it. Good grief.

Quotepeoplewitheyes I love what they've done with these images, Keith's Talk is Cheap era clip with the cig is another highlight. I thought that at first too, but pretty sure that is from Love Is Strong or something B2B related.

Quotepeoplewitheyes Love the effect on Mick's silver trousers in the'75 clips Actually, and quite oddly if you ask me, there are no clips from 1975 at all. The silver trousers and Keith striped pants clips are all from the Black And Blue promos shot in 1976 - and I think every one of those is from Crazy Mama. Live or promo clips included from 72, 73, 74, 76, 78, 81(82 at 2:28?), 86

Sorry Captain, as great as your work on this (and every other) recording is, and as great as the show is, you (and unwantedman?) are mistaken about one thing: there is, indeed, an audience recording patched in to the end of the show. At the 1:12 mark of Track 06 on Disc 04, One More Cup Of Coffee, there is a distinct change in the sound. Everything is less immediate, especially the drums which

QuoteHonestman Captain @gustavobala I'd always thought, but I should be the only one that there was some small parts of Wild Horses in it. And bits of "Til The Next Goodbye" around the 2:00 mark. (Think slower "can't go on like this, can ya?" part) Basically, 70s Stones ballad.
