I think there are limited options for the opening song. I would predict it will be one of the following: 1. JJF 2. SFM 3. SMU 4. Satisfaction 5. Paint it Black 6. Get off My Cloud 7. HTW But I would say that Paint of Black is prob not feasible until later in the set because Keith would need time for his fingers to warm up. Thats why the 5 string songs are preferred openers -Keith

Quoteamg077 QuoteRobertJohnson I once created my current order of released studio albums. 'Current' because the preferences can always change within certain limits. However, the numbers 26 and 25 will never get away from these places. Listed from the worst to the best album. 26. Their Satanic Majesties Request 25. Between the Buttons 24. Emotional Rescue 23. Aftermath 22. Dirty W

Hackney Diamonds by a mile. I loved ABB when it came out and I played it to death. I still like it, but it’s too long and has too much filler. Also the production sound gets a bit harsh and annoying after a while. In contrast HD is just the right length, filled with great songs and great performances. I think HD is shaping up to be a classic and one of their best ever.

After reading some of the negativity about the album on this thread I have continued to play the album on repeat and I have to say that I love it more and more. I have also been playing some other albums - Emotional Rescue, Undercover, Dirty Work, Steel Wheels and ABB. I found that ABB was too long and the sound/production wasn’t great; Dirty Work has some great songs but a few duds, Steel Wheels

Ok I will have a go at this.... 1. Get Close - sort of a mix of Slave and Can't you Hear Me Knocking 2. Depending on You - I get some bits of Wild Horses (but not much) 3. Bite My Head Off - I get Lies vibes from this 4. Whole Wide World - Maybe She's so Cold (the guitars) or Let Me Go? Or Where the Boys all Go? 5. Dreamy Skies- I get a bit of You Got the Silver on this

Here's my take: 1. When the album out I streamed it several times and loved it: 2. When my CD arrived I cranked up the volume and loved it even more: 3. Last night I played it on vinyl and it sounded amazing. Conclusion - this is a great Stones album.

Just want to add one comment about the “sound” of the album, as some people seem to be complaining about how it sounds (ie modern production). I think it sounds great - guitars are up front, bass and drums and keyboards sound great, Micks vocal sounds amazing. It doesn’t sound like some modern tin can pop music, it sounds like modern rock guitar music. It doesn’t sound like Sticky Fingers o

QuoteRobertJohnson Okay, we have the long-awaited solo album of Mick Jagger. Amazingly, Ronnie and Keith were allowed to play on it. And Keith even has a solo song. It's also the best thing on this album along with Rolling Stones Blues. The remarkable thing is that Mick's other solo albums were much better. When I heard about the name dropping list I was already skeptical. Who needs Lad

I think it’s a great album and is up there with their best. What I particularly like about it is that it truly feels like an “album” - is a unified body of work, rather than just a random collection of songs. It is sequenced really well and if you listen to it as an album from start to finish it takes you on a journey. I think the songs are stronger than any album since Some Girls or Tattoo You -

Yeah I thought it was weird how the CD has the lyrics and some nice photos of the band but the vinyl copies don’t have these. I bought the deluxe cd (the gatefold sleeve version), plus a black vinyl and the clear blue vinyl. Would have loved a book with the lyrics and those photos with the vinyl, but glad I got them with the cd

QuoteLorenzAgain Funny, Whole Wide World is one of my faves. The riff is so cool! Yeah I love While Wide World too - I think it’s a great song and it has a great energy - the band sounds much younger and fiery on this track. The impression I get from a lot of comments here is that people just want the Stones to sound like they did in 1971. Those days are gone - the band has changed, the wor

Love it. What a fantastic album. I really like Whole Wide World and Driving me Too hard - in fact I love all of them. I would say this is easily the best album since Some Girls - and actually may even be on a par with it. Tell Me Straight is as good as slipping Away or Thru and Thru (to my ears it sounds a bit like both of those songs). Maybe Tell Me Straight is better than both of them.

QuoteDandelionPowderman Quotejohn lomax I would say there is zero chance of Bill playing at the gig. If Darryl isn’t available then I would think Andrew Watt would handle bass. If the gig even happens…… Why was he on the plane to NYC, then? We don’t even know that it was actually him on the plane. I remember years ago talking to a guy at work who was telling me about an interview he’

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteWuudy Mick said in that interview that the reason for the long time between finishing the album and releasing it is because the vinyl takes a long time? Does anyone know why this is? It used to be the only way records were sold and they made a few a year. It's been like that for a while now. Shortage of materials (PVC plastic) to make vinyl. Yes - and also

Those songs sound great - they just sound really new, inventive and interesting and they are different to a lot of the “standard” Stones stuff we have had for the last 25 years. By “standard” I mean songs like “One More Shot”, which I like but don’t really “push the boat out”

Angry by a mile. Here’s my attempt at ranking the singles since Steel Wheels (this excludes songs issued with the reissued old albums). This is actually really difficult to do!! 1. Love is Strong 2. Angry 3. You Got Me Rocking 4. Anybody Seen My Baby 5. Mixed Emotions 6. Out of Control 7. Don’t Stop 8. High wire 9. Almost Hear you Sigh 10. Saint of Me 11. Ghost Town 12. Rough

I think Angry is a great song. In my opinion it’s the best single since Anybody Seen My Baby. People seemed to quite like Doom and Gloom when it came out -I think Angry is much much better than that. And Living in a Ghost Town was good and appropriate for lockdown, but it’s not a classic. Angry probably isn’t either but it’s a great song and I would love to hear it live. I think it is way better

I actually quite like the album. “One Hit” is a great song. I quite like the song “Dirty Work”, “Harlem Shuffle” is good, “Hold Back” is good, “Fight” isn’t too bad, “Back to Zero” is not great but it’s no worse than most mid-80s album fillers, “Too Rude” is no better or worse than most Keith tracks, “Sleep Tonight” is great, “Had it with you” is good….. I mean, I actually think that overall. It’

Quotetreaclefingers You know I just realized something. The last time the Rolling Stones released an album of new material I was relatively young...and had no children. It was literally a generation ago. It was as long a time as the time between Come On and Start Me Up. Egad! Yeah exactly - to put in Beatles terms, it’s the same as the time Love Me Do and Double Fantasy. It’s a ridic
