QuoteBig Al QuoteRollingFreak QuoteBig Al One day, I shall have to get around to listening to Badfinger. I only really know of them through their Beatles association. IMO No Dice and Straight Up are two front to back excellent albums. They won't stand up with like Sticky Fingers or something, but not really a bad song in the bunch. There's some good stuff on the others (Ass, Badfinge

Quoteperkmo Video of the Dickey Betts tribute last night, Chuck sits in quite a bit, and sings lead on Rain, just outstanding. Really good show, Duane Betts did his dad proud. Man I miss the Allman's Dickey Betts era, just gave them that all around rock, blues, country feel they lost some of when they separated.

Quotemosthigh Great tribute but wonder what happened to Jaimoe since he was on the bill but was a no-show. He was on the bill for a show I went to a few years ago and also was a no show and I never heard why.

Quoteliddas Truly do not know him, but in his old age he seems to be a more "ordinary" kind of man than the likes of Madonna, Michael Jackson or many other entertainment superstars. They (Stones) all do. And a big plus is no plastic surgery! C In my mind I guess I contrast him to Mick who seems quite the jet setter, Keith being more of a homebody family man. Now splitting wi

QuoteGasLightStreet It has to be worthwhile to bother. And it's what you get for paying a monthly fee to access millions of songs vs supporting an artist paying for an album. Hence the $$$. Pay or don't. It's Paul Simon. There's the aspect of 1960s artists getting to that "too old" part now. Stones, McCartney, Ringo... the end is very near. They'

Quotetreaclefingers QuoteDGA35 Quotebabyblue I saw Paul in 2019 he sounded very good in Vancouver. Anyone know if he’s touring N America this summer. 2012 I thought it was a once in a lifetime concert, first time in Van since 64. Then he came back in 2016 so I thought great, one more chance. Then 2019. 3 times in 7 years! I actually commented to the girl I went to the 2019 concert that I th

QuoteRollingFreak QuoteBig Al Quotefrankotero QuoteBig Al I think a certain Pete Best may have something to say about that! For Pete's sake! But seriously I don't really consider him part of The Beatles, the story yes but nothing more. Not sure what to believe as far his departure but if it was cruel I'd feel empathy. Oh, I know what you mean! He was a ‘Beatle’, just not one a

I watched the documentary of Sly Stone last night, and his kids kind of came to the same conclusion with him lately, now that sobriety finally stuck after decades of abuse, he's just a normal old man now that likes to get together with family for a meal.

QuoteGasLightStreet That was the roughest I've heard. He's definitely fried. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and then Sunday night - might be a bit too much at 82. You're right, that's a lot for anybody regardless of age, much less the number of sings he sings in concert.

Seen him 4 times between '93-'16 and he was great every time. One time had a funny incident, he brought out a guitar and said it was the same one used on the Ed Sullivan show. The camera zoomed in on a Detroit Red Wings sticker on it for some reason and the crowd started to boo as that was one of our rival hockey teams. He looked kinda stunned and said "not sure what that'

Quotejahisnotdead I finally saw this documentary today. I thought it was very well done. I might watch it again soon. It starts up with very complex mashup of different performances on SNL. There's a lot of focus on the music of the cast members and the show itself as much as the musical guests. And some of the stories are quite dramatic - as you can imagine Sinead O'Connor's story

Quoteslewan reminds me of the encore paradoxon. People going to shows expect encores and feel pis*ed off if there aren't any. The same people are happy if an artist does 14 songs andcome back twice to play 5 encore songs. But if they get a 22 song setlist with no encores they feel betrayed – although they got three songs more than at the other show with 14+5 songs beside that: Playing f
