I saw both HP shows and I have to say HP1 was the winner for me. I can't say why, I just enjoyed it more. Both were great shows though.

QuotePapo Has there been a camera crane at any of the shows recently? Didn't notice one. Expected them to record Hyde Park again, but there were no extra cameras. Do you think that the cameras there are in use at every show provide enough good material to release every concert they want to from this tour? I'm not sure if camera cranes are needed any more? I noticed they were using

There are good and bad points to e-tickets. However, the main benefit to everyone (except the scalpers) is that it massively reduces the ability of criminals to profiteer off the secondary ticket selling market with massive inflated prices. The technology allows the tickets to be tracked from original purchase through to transfer and use so suspicious behaviour can be clamped down on more easily.

This article absolutely nails it! The gold circle at Hyde Park was enormous. It didn't even get anywhere near the long catwalk. I've been to seated gigs in the past at stadiums which for some reason the Stones introduced in the 2000's. These gigs were the least favorite of the gigs I have been to because the audience nearer the front were very subdued. By and large, it is th

I think he's probably right about IORR. They never played it anything like the original live which indicates that they thought the tempo was wrong. Also, they changed the key.

Quotemarcovandereijk video: Haha. Youtube put an age filter on the 2003 HTW video. Wonder why I can't find any HTW video's from the Voodoo Lounge tour? I think you need to look at adult sites for that, not youtube!

It strikes me that the Stones have always singled out particular songs for "special treatment" on the screens. One example of this is Honky Tonk Women which always seems to have some gimmick during the song's performance. These range from vintage pornography (I forget which tour) to manga girl with Gregory the Gorilla to the current animation involving sort of indian dancing.

It makes no sense that people are saying that CYHMK was badly played in one breath and then too short in another! If it was played that badly surely you would want it to be as short as possible? Anyway, in my opinion it was especially well played by Keith and Ron did a reasonably good job on the solo. I like the fact it was short, not least because I never thought Mick's harmonica solo s

I want to add my own observations about the show to the great stuff that's already been said. I had a GA ticket. Unlike the previous Hyde Park gigs where you could get down towards the front if you arrived early enough, the Golden circle is absolutely huge at this year's event. So much for "general" admission. If you arrive by around 4pm you can easily get over the various

Good job I read this thread because I arrogantly assumed that I would be able to use the AXS app to show my tickets for entry on the day. Thanks everyone! I don't know why they make it so complicated. And what about the presumably large number of people who are simply IT challenged or don't have a mobile phone?

Quotehockenheim95 Quotedunhill Maybe it's already been discussed but, are the Stones bringing the whole production to Hyde Park or they will play on the festival's stage with its productions? Hoping not the latter. Hyde Park is a Festival. On all festivals the Stones played so far they used the Festival stage and brought their own Catwalk with them. Just like in 2013. True - but thi

Quotepaulywaul Here's a question, to which I wouldn't be surprised if no-one had the definite answer to ? But I'll ask anyway. I'll be needing to get to Luton Airport on Sunday 26th. any idea what is likely to be running, and what is not ? And a follow-up question, in the event the train option is dead. From where exactly in London would one get a bus to Luton Airport ? St

Quotedierdz Thanks guys for all the advices and information. Sunday 26th trains will work as usual, right? Or I should take care about this day too? In theory they should be back up and running but of course there will be over-spill of disruption from the previous day. So do take care and plan ahead if you can, but you should be OK if you allow plenty of time for your journey and expect som

QuoteDoxa QuoteStonedRambler QuoteIsakSun Not Fade Away was a perfect opening number. I think the great thing about Not Fade Away as an opener was not the song itself but rather how it set the tension for Tumbling Dice to totally smash as a second song. This! Still recall at my very first Stones concert ever, Helsinki '95, how hypnotic "Dice" sounded like. Not that "Not Fade

This is an interesting release. The songs are almost like for like covers with very little alteration to the arrangements. Very well played indeed and you can tell their love of the Stones by how well they know and play these songs. I love Blackberry Smoke and have seen them live a couple of times. The Whippoorwill is one of my favorite albums of all time. But I have to question the point o

The prices of vinyl in general have sky rocketed recently and it is definitely not a Stones phenomena. You would imagine that as records become more popular and therefore production levels increase that they would reduce in price. But that hasn't happened.

I too put together my own Stones country mix CD a few years back. It had more songs on it than this and was probably before the Exile and Some Girls bonus material came out which added significantly to their country cannon. (Especially Some Girls era when they seemed to be doing quite a bit of country stuff.) In relation to this specific compilation, very obvious omissions appear to be We Had

QuoteHairball Would have been nice if they played an actual stadium in London in addition to (or instead of) the massive/meandering outdoor field setting of Hyde Park. Those outdoor shows always seem to be a quagmire of sorts, but I imagine it will be fun nevertheless. I'm guessing they won't be able to use their own stage and/or their giant screens? Last time they did Hyde Park

Maybe Charlie wasn't the most flashy of drummers. But I can still remember the day I first heard the explosive toms at the start of Honky Tonk Women. And that's what hooked me onto the Stones. I didn't know Charlie the person. But I knew him as a musician. A musician who played the backbeat of my life. Always there, whether I've been happy or sad. But whenever I hear the St
