I have been a fan of Eric Clapton since John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers. I am shocked at his world view regarding Covid 19. Polio Tetanus Influenza Rubella Measles Chicken Pox Diphtheria 601,000 dead in the U.S. from Covid 19 33.7 million cases in the U.S. of Covid 19 If only people had listened to the medical community and followed the guidelines; these numbers would have been sub

Sad news, Leslie West was an excellent & distinctive guitar player. Listening to 'Stormy Monday' by Mountain ; a great version of the song that showcases the range of Leslie West guitar play. I saw Mountain at George Mason University in December 1973; they put on a really good show.WHO fans probably recognize is work on alternate takes from 'Who's Next' deluxe edition

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Quality and Quantity of music is extraordinary. Creedence Clearwater Revival. Consider the amazing output between 19968-1970.

1969: Baltimore Civic Center 1972: Capital Center, Largo Maryland Both were great shows, 1969 acoustic set with Prodigal Son & You Got To Move . Mick Taylor stood out more in 1972; especially during Gimme Shelter & You Can't Always Get What You Want.

I think you're wrong about this. L&G was originally released to theaters w/ quadrophonic capabilities. It was supposed to simulate being at a live Rolling Stones Show. I saw it at the Biograph theater in January '74 with the quad sound - it sounded much better than the DVD/CD release. I agree that the sound / mix on the DVD/CD is horrible - I rarely listen to it because it is so bad

Rolling Stones, Baltimore Civic Center, November 1969 was my first rock concert ever. I was 17 & have been a Stones fan since the beginning. They were hours late coming to the stage but.... they were fantastic. Midnight Rambler was the centerpiece of the show: Boogie blues + music theater all bathed in blood-red lights. To this day, one of the coolest things I've seen on stage. Let It B

New album of JJ Cale to be released April 26. Unreleased songs recorded before his death. His new single 'Chasing You' is out now and sounds fantastic.

I've always made allowances for this album, given that the band was in flux. 1975-1976 Mick Taylor had left, Keith's drug addiction was severely limiting his abilities, the band was using these sessions to audition a new guitarist & the music scene was shifting toward disco, etc. I cannot help but feel that a healthy Keith Richards would have done all of the guitar work on these son

I would have to disagree with many of you; I think Mumford & Sons are a great band. They play with a great deal of passion and energy. I think it shows on their albums - but it really shows in their live performance. They form a real connection with their audience and get them involved in the show. The band genuinely enjoy performing with each other - they have fun on stage which makes the

I'd have to say that Silver Train is not one of their better songs. Always sounded like a variation of All Down The Line with really poor lyrics. Love the riff - though the recording / mixing lacks the energy of ADTL; but its the lyrics that ruins the song for me. I can see where it could be considered an outtake.

As I recall from the time; the album was delayed because the vocals for some of the songs had been accidentally erased. Mick Jagger was in Australia and the band had to wait for him to return to rerecord his vocals. I always wondered if this was the reason for Keith's vocals on 'You Got The Silver'

I’m really surprised that so many people dislike Voodoo Lounge. I’ve always liked this album. It’s one of the few ‘modern’ Stones albums that I tend to listen to start to finish . There does seem to be more of a band feel to this album vs. Bridges and Bigger Bang where the Stones were rarely in the same room together. Maybe this was due to Bill’s departure and everyone put a little more into t

Baltimore Civic Center, Baltimore Md. B.B. King opened the show. I remember the Stones were incredibly late coming to the stage. This was the first major act I had seen live and they were amazing. If I had to pick show highlights, I would say Sympathy For The Devil, Midnight Rambler, You Got To Move, Street Fighting Man. Sympathy and Rambler had the additional surprise of stage lighting and th

Robert Greenfield's 'STP -A Journey through America with the Rolling Stones' really captures both the '72 tour and Socio-political times in the United States. It remains the best book I've read on the Stones and one of their tours.

He also put out two albums with Native American musicians - great music if you're interested in alternative music. -Album titles "Contact from the Underworld of Red Boy" and "Music for the Native Americans". Check Music web sites for samples to see if you like it - really great stuff.
