That's a great catch. Mike's cassette labels JFF specifically as one of the San Diego songs so we just presumed that was the case and didn't compare it to the other source for LA. We do have a full San Diego recording we believe was made by Mike's friend who attended with him but recorded on a separate rig. We'll get to that at some point. BK

This comes straight off a circa 1973 cassette tape of the show. It hasn't been tampered with.

I did not realize those two remain unshared in 24/96. They were not purposely excluded as far as I know. I have the original source files for all the transfers. Let me try to address that. Thanks for mentioning.

I appreciate the dialogue and your POV. But one thing I can say for sure is that the JEMS transfers were meticulous in terms of azimuth alignment on playback. That's why we have the gear we do. That's a critical piece to our workflow/transfer path. Could deterioration be an issue? Maybe. A lot of the previously circulating LZ transfers were made by Mike onto VHS hi-fi in the early &

It is an interesting request. Intellectually, it doesn't make sense to me, in that Mike recorded his masters with Dolby on and made his copies with Dolby on. Transferring with Dolby off would leave intact an artificial high-end boost (emphasis) that is not accurate to what he captured, in that Dolby decoding would tame (de-emphasis), which is how the Dolby system works in a nutshell (see

Quotepkrl5758 No, I am after those without dolby B applied. They're some copies. that's for sure. Just sayin' that my copy of 6/23 has minor issues, that's all. I see. I will say that I have never seen a copy Millard made himself that was not Dolby encoded, save for the VHS Hi-Fi copies he made.

QuoteLiveAtHidepark JEMS, I don't know how to explain how I was fascinated by your Foxes releases. It was pure magic. All Rolling Stones collectors owe you a great respect. Thanks. I appreciate those kind words. We were lucky to come into possession of the tapes. With help from Neko, were we able to compile the series and bring you the true rarities in the collection. QuoteDoctorStone thank you very much for this thread! my 1st faked outtake lp was "the guy never dies" (in 1985) but when listening to foxes in the boxes (1,5 years ago) i had the feeling that to some traks somebody added a guitar using home recording equipment i think that everybody can modify recordings at home. but when sharing such recordings this should be declared. i liked t

Er, not sure how the "Captain" is "risking the ire of the JEMS label" when we, JEMS, provided the tapes to the "Captain" ourselves and asked him to dis

Quotesandandglue The liner notes mention another alternate mix of Phoenix (Another piece I'd quite happily listen to) but the thought of JEMS offering a few more goodies from this stash is very exciting. The download contains both mixes, hence two different cover art, different liner notes.

QuoteU2Stonesfan Thanks a lot JEMS!! Any chance there might be a Foxes Vol.4 in the near future? Great stuff thanks again!! Hi. In answer to the two questions asked, we moved the posting site for Vol. Three because there are varying interpretations of what's been released or not. Some arbiters are more strict about musical elements being the same, even if vocals are different. Others are l

QuoteNeddieFlanders Credit to where credit is due: Foxes Vol. 1 - 3 came from the JEMS people (their BK is not BKeys!) Montauk came from JMARKO (with one teaser -Melody- by FijiKeys) Just for the record. N The answer to your question
