To celebrate the occasion they should invite him on stage one more time to play Miss You. I'm aware it's not gonna happen but it would be a nice gesture towards Bill and simultaneously spare the audience another over-long repetitive bass solo ....

Finally made it to listen to mine (the 2CD version) and had it followed by listening to the 1994 Virgin version ... Apart from the brickwalling, what I find additionally disturbing is the volume boost they gave to the bass, which quite on its own suffices to suffocate the music. Now I do like Bill's bass playing on TY - seriously, he plays some great bass there that gives the music more l

Latest statement here (taken from another thread): The pandemic slowed work on the Stones’ latest studio album, their first of original songs since “A Bigger Bang” in 2005. “If everything hadn’t gotten closed down, we might’ve finished the damn thing,” Richards said. Added Jagger: “We have a lot of tracks done, so when the tour’s finished we’ll assess where we are with that and continue.”

Quotethecitadel Great review Hendrik. Great work Matt & Hendrik to get into this gig - and I know it took plenty of planning, time away from home, networking, and relationships built over a long time. And it wasn't certain until shortly before the gig. Somehow I don't manage to find that review. Can someone show me the way?

The Stones did it (sort of) when Stu passed - the hidden track on DW. I always considered this a (for lack of a better word) nice and respectful statement by the band. A similar thing (additional track) with a characteristic piece of Charlie's drumming from the last session(s) would certainly seem appropriate to me. As for potentially overdubbing Charlie's drums in the course of comp

... or do a collage of verses from existing songs, now in a covid context "I'm driving through a ghost town" could be coupled with "I ran 20 red lights in its (i.e. Covid's) honour and no-one gave a damn" ... The girl with the faraway eyes would then be a zombie (kinda post-Covid existence) one a plane going down, so Mick can should her together with a horde of zomb

(More) seriously speaking, a double CD seems rather unlikely to me as well. Judging from what one hears/reads about the number of songs that have actually been (more or less) finished until now, it will rather be an EP (and with Ghost Town already released, maybe a short EP even). The double album idea was also around some 200 pages ago. Like, a Keith-dominated CD and a Mick-dominated CD. But it doesn't seem like they are interested in such an obvious compromise. They could have called it "Use Your Infusions I & II", though ... Another two-album-solution: CD1: "No Filler", CD2: "No Filter". CD1: Only the truly totally real great st

Not to forget the most notorious one: CS Blues ... Originally he was not on any (or most) of ABB, maybe. If memory serves, when the sessions took place he was still undergoing (or recuperation from) his throat cancer treatment. I can't quite recall if (or where) he rcorded the drum tracks later on, or if the final recording sessions of the tracks as they ended up on ABB included him on d

One way to honour Charlie's legacy would be for them to seriously think about finally releasing at least some songs from the new album sessions. These were possibly the last sessions he played on, the last gifts he had for us.

Just heard it on the 7pm news. So there was a reason why they didn't tell us what exactly the "successful (medical) procedure" was he had to undergo. I already feared not all was alright. Yes, end of an era. The only consolation is to think what great people he will be jamming with now up there. RIP Chawlie.

I know the link was in German. I just posted it so the non-German speakers would get to the item directly without having to deal with a German search engine. Just checked again: When using the English page I still get the search result in German but once I click a particular item from the list of search results, now the English version opens ... be that as it may, jpc should work on it!

QuoteGasLightStreet It's rather well documented that their fighting escalated during the ER mixing sessions and carried on into 1981. Do you have any details about their fighting during the ER mixing sessions? Somehow this seems to have escaped me. I remember having read that Keith spent a lot of time producing alternative mixes but that there was an escalating fight is new to me.

Judging from the last shows I attendend, 95% of the audience come to the show primarily to see Mick Jagger (and to hear Satisfaction), and (most of) the rest additionally to see whether Keith can still stand more or less upright. Who else is on the stage possibly doesn't matter much to many in the audience. Just like it's only a few afficionados who would complain about the never-changi
