Since the age question is a recurring theme here, let’s see what other active musicians in their age group made of lockdown, e.g. John McLaughlin, who at 79,5 years is a tad older than your average Stone. Johnny Mac just released a new album, “Liberation Time”, recorded long-distance during lockdown with various other musicians, and not his worst. JMac says (liner notes), “By the end of September

Ronnie at least should be excused, he had different problems. BTW, did (some of?) the other Stones comment on the Mick/Grohl song? I don't think I have seen/heard anything.

Quotedaspyknows Very concerning that there are now two cases of lung cancer. Let's hope he really is cancer free. Let's also hope he stays cancer-free from now on. May well be that this new battle with cancer of Ronnie's was among the reasons why we didn't get another Stones tune after Ghost Town.

QuotePietro I am probably the only person in the world who likes "Melody." You're not. Melody is absolutely the highlight of the album, and also a highlight in their catalogue of songs. I seem to remember having read somewhere that Billy Preston more than helped writing that song. Black and Blue has always been a mixed bag to me. When it came out I appreciated it for being al

I think that if there would have been a useful way to work with the other lads via the net, Mick had certainly (also) done that. (Who knows, maybe they do it anyway in some way or other? - Ever being the optimist ,,,) Their age is not necessarily a factor. Kraan, who are only slightly younger than the Stones (between 69 and 72) also managed to record a (very good) album last year without ever mee

I find the song quite OK, way better than England Lost and what-was-the-name-of-the-hitting-song. Doesn't sound like stolen from Liar to me, just a genre similarity, I'd say. Some people above said it's reminiscent of SG Stones and that's the impression I had too. Of course the Stones could have also played that. In fact, I had preferred a Keith/Ronnie guitar duel in the solo

Sounds just like a warm-up or generic leisure-time noodling, not like the blueprint of a “new” song. (Otherwise, our grandkids will find out once the album is released - if they are lucky.)
