Please, not interested hearing about Jack Bruce, or Ginger caning the director of his documentary. I've not read any books about Ginger but, after looking around Internet nothing came up about him being arrested in bar brawls, assaulting paparazzi etc. Perhaps due to his addiction of choice not being alcohol ?

Really? What pickup position is that? I don't play Stratocaster. What is that double-tone thing i hear? Seems like i hear at least the strings & the amped sound together but that's nuts. Harmonics? Overtone? 2-4 position oddity? I first noticed it on the 2011 version intro and around 3:44-45. Then i listened to the 1st version and heard also 2:12,16,20 and 3:20,29,47 & 5:1

Anyone know what guitar could have been used? It's definitely not lap steel. It's Woody playing what sounds like to me, a P-90 neck pickup with a glass slide. For many years i've had a Framus E-12 i keep strung minus the 2 unison plains & G octave. Sounds great with only E-A-D as double course. Sounds like this to me. On the early boot it runs thru the whole song... for

WoW... just wow. i assume that's from the Saachi. OK, well one of us was in a coal cellar the last 40 years and i know it wasn... nevermind. Good camera or phone. That axe case had a spotlight from the top didn't it? So which of the other Les Pauls had the pole screws way up and a bit bent? Maybe it was that one. Ah but i definitely remember (ha ha) it was a P-90, come to think of

I saw the LPC at Saatchi Gallery EXHIBITIONISM exhibit. The light wasn't bright by any means in that particular room, which i appreciated... And it did look like enamel paint. But ya, the axe had not been kept playable condition (unfortunately). And looked like it had been stored in a coal cellar for the last 40 years. The painting, as the guitar, did have a film over it to the best of my re

I looked around on-line for Texta pens but their site doesn't sell paint markers... if thats what you meant. Or at least not anymore. Did they make paint markers back then? I was 10 years old then, but in usa. Only model paint in my neck of the woods. But it does look like a paint marker could have been used rather than a brush. Need to dig out my Stones Gear Book for better view. Anyone

Anyone know the brand of paint was used? A hobby enamal paint wasn't it? or, how bright it looked when it was new? (pics?!) When i saw it on display a couple years back the paintjob looked really murky. Cheers, berlinjive

I've seen these guys. The drummer (and in recordings) is stiff. Bass too. Scary google-composite-image-search for "early 70s metal band". If they spent as much time on music ideas as their museum-quality retro look they would be plainum. the singer is like Sting... always looks like he's looking in a mirror. 3 young Berlin women called Jealous mop the floor with Kadavar.

I've been re-listening to John Phillips 70's output and really enjoying it! Wolfking Of L.A. (vinyl)_ Pay Pack & Follow (2001) _ Jack Of Diamonds (2007)_ Pussycat (2008). I just noticed that the Pussycat CD, which is another version of PP&F, has been issued w/o Mick's vocals! Discogs/notes says: "On this release the same tracks appear in their previously unreleas

hey thanks! I should have guessed it was Ry Cooder... covered this song with a woman live a long time ago & not revisited the original till now. It's really good guitar... could have done with a whole albums worth in that vein.

Its unfair to compare any band to Lennon/McCartney. They "Song Doctored" each others stuff. Producers get points. There's arrangers, managers, girlfriends/boyfriends, loads of people have input to how songs end up. Dylan depended on his studio band's alchemy & quick thinking to synthesize vibes. Without Jimmy Miller the Stones Golden Mid-Period probably would have been

Cheers for advice here on which ALO books are essential (got Stoned and 2 Stoned) a few weeks back. Enjoying Stoned now, its FANTASTIC. More than i hoped. Now want to do the same on MF... Whats the difference between her self-penned books? The 1995, or 2008/Memories one to get? The newer one has the same title as a Jung book and Amazon's algorhythm put all the reviews together on M

Recently read "1966" and it nudged me towards posting this question. That and finally untangling the compilations time-sequences of all the Stones 'till mid-70s output. I love winter.

Sorry if i sounded terse in my post. but i really did just blast it out in the middle of the night to avoid my looming deadline. I have total respect for this place... I've learned SO much here. I'm surprised so many of you are sure its not a Tele. Is it that exact tone in the studio film? I don't own the DVD so will check on-line. I have seen it at midnight shows in the 70

ok, i'm on a deadline, but, read this whole 7 page thread. And must reply to this um, almost 5 years dead thread. #1 It's obviously a Tele. I don't care if its LPC in the film. (someone mentioned Page, Stairway... its cause he used a Tele on Stairway.) #2 capos affect tone when used up higher, at least with me when i want it to. Mostly when bending. I can dig in harder with

So this 1973 Les Paul was only used live? Any documented studio dates with it? What is its history after the tour? On the ThroBak site they call it the Taylor/Richards burst... so apparently its not the early one sold by Keith to Mick. But since Keith was photographed using it, it can get by being called a "MT/KR burst" as well. Seems the '69-72 pickups would be the guitar
