he used to open for the Kinks a lot in the lates 70's in the Midwest. He was always jerky and cocky to the audience. Juts my observation, probably saw him 4-5 times like this.

So when a person clicks on a song, does that count as a unit sold?

Dumb question. If I click/listen/download on a song on my Apple Music subscription does that count as a sale for the artist? I would hope not. If so comparing todays sales numbers to actually buying a record is absurd. I hope that is not the case.

QuoteStoneage What's the point with this museum? Do they give prize money or do you end up a dust collecting item on a shelf in a vax cabinet?[/quote} I guess its just semantics. Its just a poorly managed museum as it is right now. It seems like we have jumped the shark with rock n roll. It really isnt a "Rock n Roll Hall of Fame".

Quoteshattered I love this annual thread. It's like feeding meat to the lions. It sure is! I look forward to my yearly rant! I think what gets me worked up is that the Hall seems to elevate some while in turn disrespecting others. I think we are at the point of eliminating "inducting" artists into the "Hall of Fame". I would rather see a museum type atmosphere ins

Quotemighty stork Lots of great 60's and 70's Rock & Roll bands still not in there that deserve to be before some of these and some already in. Why is the RRHF in such a hurry to get bands from the 90's and beyond in so soon? Spot on. The disrespect that 1960's rock/pop acts get is a crime. Bands like Paul Revere and the Raiders, The Monkees, Hermans Hermits basically i

More on the Milwaukee show. I was at this show and there was a mini riot. The issue here was radio ads for weeks leading up to the show hinting at "special guests" Rumors were flying big time. Even the local news channels were on it The biggest rumor was that the Stones were holed up at the Playboy Club in Lake Geneva, WI. Of course this all bullshit to sell out the place. The show

That list baffles me, but to each their own. Not gonna knock any of those LP's but I just don't get them at that level of sales.

Thank you for posting this! Very enjoyable for Kinks fans! They are so criminally underrated. My first concert was seeing The kinks at The Riverside Theatre in Milwaukee, WI 1977. (Cheap Trick was the opening act) pretty cool for a 14 year old!

Quotebitusa2012 Quotetimmyj3 QuoteThePaleRider I recall reading somewhere that Love You Live was going to be a mix of the '73 and '75 tours, but in the end, Mick decided it was better to just move on past the Taylor years. What could have been! Listened to Love you Live this week actually. Still don't like the mix. Just never clicked for me (other than side 3). I LOVE the LYL

Sirius/XM is running a special called Tommy James artist confidential on 60's Gold channel 73. It features Tommy playing acoustic and different versions of some of his songs. He also discusses his life in depth with Lou Simon. Just thought some here might enjoy this show.

QuoteRocky Dijon Great song that was largely missed in the 1980s. Yeah, their entire late 80's early 90's was completely overlooked. Kind of depressing actually. They had some super poignant songs and albums.

Quotedrewmaster Quotetimmyj3 As an adult, my opinion on Black and Blue has only improved slightly. I 100% respect what the Stones did at that point in time. I view this LP as the chronological end to the Exile thru Black and Blue era. I view Exile more in the B&B, Its only RnR, Goats Head Soup era than the previous Big 3. I hold IORR, GHS, in higher regard than most on this board is my feelin

Black and Blue. I have been scratching my head over Black and Blue since I was a junior high school kid awaiting its arrival. I was newly into album rock but had accumulated several Stones LPs and was forming opinions, likes, and dislikes in my little not quite fully formed brain as a 14 year old. My fist thought was how disappointing "Fool to Cry" as the single was to me. The albu

QuoteTaylor1 It was still the era of Michael Jackson? Yes, to a degree. I just checked the 1986 Billboard year end singles and there are plenty of rockers there. To my ears this song had it all. Seemed to fit the era of stadium rockers just fine. Definitely sounds better than US charts of 28. I thknk even lower in the UK.

My 1986 self still waiting for this song to dominate the charts. In my top 10 Stones songs of all time. Just thought it should have been a solid chart topper.
