Midnight Rambler was great on ABB-tour and had some novelty value in 2012-2014 with Taylor. Nowadays with Steve it's a bit too static sounding and doesn't swing like it used to. It's a great song but not something you need to hear every show.

I guess Mick took singing lessons before the Steel Wheels tour, because his singing became more professional and controlled in the 90's. Some of his best live performances was in the 90's and early 00's. In many shows from the 70's he's just shouting the lyrics.

QuoteJustin Baffling what some people are hearing...or not hearing in these shows. This tour Ronnie has been on point. If people are sensing him being "off" because he's calmer and really focused on creating some truly thoughtful and purposeful solos as opposed to the frantic and wild puppy dog stuff he was doing in the last 5 legs, that is a shame. I'm hearing a very f

Is there a list of songs included in the song vote since 2012 which never won? If You Can't Rock Me comes to mind, I voted for it several times but they never played it... Bummer.

I like the sound better on this one than Licked Live. More pleasant on the ears. The playing is also a bit more loose and relaxed.

Quotetommycharles Watching this now... Stray Cat was really good here. Yea but Keith plays like it's his first attempt in 30 years and he's figuring out the chords along the way, but Mick is fantastic and makes up for it.

If you have seen a lot of live shows you have a pretty good picture of how it sounds being there in person with the loud bass and drums. You can "fill in the gap" in your head when listening to youtube videos and see beyond the flat recording. Youtube videos are really good for hearing mistakes and analysing the performance in greater detail and not getting overwhelmed by the loudness.

Quoteimthemastah Thanks for this! I was at this show and have great memories; revisiting it from this recording was very exciting. I wasn't able to find myself in the audience (I was right up in front of Ronnie) but did see some friends appear a few times. I hope someday we see the rest of the show but given that this took 20 years to appear I'm not going to hold out too much hope.

Excellent version of Like a Rolling Stone. Steve's steady drumming fits really nice on this one.

So great to see You Got Me Rocking in the setlist again! Such an underrated classic rocker! I guess Mick finally realised Ghost Town is not a good live song.

Any trainwrecks from Keith this show? Judging from a few videos it was his best show so far this tour.

First half of CYHMK was excellent but the instrumental part sounded very rushed. And Ronnie's solo was below his usual high standard.

I was hoping for Gimme Shelter with an extended Ronnie guitar solo instead...

Quoterebelhipi I wonder why they choose the Amsterdam gig for the bonus tracks. There was some sloppy versions of Star Star and I Just Wanna Make Love With You. Street Fighting Man was good at least. I think it's nice to see widescreen footage from 2003 and would've preferred to get the full Amsterdam show instead of the old rehashed HBO broadcast in 4:3 format... But maybe the show w

QuoteJustin Now I'm worried what they'll do to St. Louis 97 if that ever comes out again Yea they really messed up the sound on this one. If I want to revisit this show I will stick to the HBO broadcast bootleg. It's sounds really good and the audio mix was Emmy nominated. St. Louis is well mixed although I wish Ronnie was bit louder and as Nikkei says the crowd noise is annoy

QuoteEasterMan Listening to this right now on Spotify. Not as good as the Four Flicks mix, but still a great show worth revisiting! Just listened to Brown Sugar, it's sounds completely overloaded and distorted compared to Live Licks. I don't know what they're are doing with these reissues but the sound is horrible.

QuoteHairball Street Fighting Man was also great last night, as it was in Madrid...it's always a thrill when Keith strolls out and lashes away with those iconic riffs... Can't find any full length great SFM clips from last night yet, but here's this from Madrid the other night - another great Matt Lee video including the Charlie tribute opening: It's such a great versio

QuotePaintMonkeyManBlack Was looking into the 2002/2003 stadiums setlist. Current ones way better. Look at his one.. If we take a random 2002 stadium setlist I still like it better than the current ones. No Miss You or Paint It Black and a nice b-stage set. Turner Field 2002: 1. Brown Sugar 2. It's Only Rock'n Roll 3. Start Me Up 4. Don't Stop 5. Tumbling Dice 6

In Madrid they played ONE song released in the last 30 years. Since it's their 60th anniversary I think they should celebrate the second half of their career by playing 4 songs every night from Voodoo Lounge, Bridges To Babylon or A Bigger Bang. Here's what a Voodoo-themed setlist could look like: 1. Street Fighting Man 2. Let's Spend The Night Together 3. 19th Nervous Brea

Quoteribbelchips To me, every Stones show should always include: Tumbling Dice, Street Fighting Man, Brown Sugar, Jumping Jack Flash, Start me Up, Sympathy for the Devil, Honky Tonk Women, Gimme Shelter, Midnight Rambler, Paint it Black and Satisfaction. But why? El Mocambo, Paradiso, Club/Arena Licks shows were all fantastic without many of those songs. This band could actually be int

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteTheBlockbuster Ronnie's guitar sound is a bit tweaked (especially on Hot Stuff). I wish they didn't feel the need to "fix" these releases and add a bunch of delay. Not everything has to sound like it was recorded yesterday. He had that delay on that tour. Yea but it's sounds more aggressive/distorted compared to the bootleg. Don't kno

Quoteyeababyyea Here's an example when Keith starts off JJF at pretty much the same speed, Charlie follows his tempo but Steve "corrects" it. I think Charlie's approach gave the band an interesting dynamic feel. Yes, much of the Stones unique sound is gone without Charlie. Some people might think the Hamburg version is dragging and slow, but I think it has a nice groove,

I like this 1997 version, Mick's vocals are really strong, Charlie builds a nice laid back groove, Keith plays some reggae style licks. Overall a more mature sound than the somewhat hysteric 1981/82 versions.
